and vote REMAIN.

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 16:09:54

They were very good arguments
I used one of DH's own arguments on him in the end - nothing to do with the EU, but about never going back, always forward.

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 16:06:50

I have just given DH a right old ear bashing on the way to the poll. Doubt if it did much good. He will still have voted the wrong way. hmm Stubborn old git.

I still haven't asked DH.
I think he changed his mind this week (his ear was beginning to hurt)

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 15:57:38

Some consolation, although I'm sure they don't know any more than us. But REMAINERS may like to know that FTSE and £ has hit a high.

merlotgran Thu 23-Jun-16 15:00:11

Oi! Lay off our pubs. grin

delilah Thu 23-Jun-16 14:56:58

Fail to vote Remain and you will demonstrate ignorance of UK history and a wish to neglect our neighbours to whom we owe much of our language , a merciful additions to our food , cafe culture as opposed to pubs. It's always better to stay in the tent than to sulk outside. How many of your genes are French ?

merlotgran Thu 23-Jun-16 14:45:02

Nah! Totally harmless....Just the village idiot eccentric.

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 23-Jun-16 14:44:02

I think they'll just want to be as prepared as they can.

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 14:37:49

The banks are doing it because they are trying to prevent a huge drop in sterling and shares if the vote is out. Not sure how they are going to do that though.

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 23-Jun-16 14:31:31

Apparently some banks are doing their own exit polls, so maybe the man was working for one of them.

ginny Thu 23-Jun-16 14:07:04

Merlotgran I'd have told that man outside to mind his own business.

I'm off to vote in a minute. Have made up my mind after lots of reading and thought. No, I'm not telling anyone which way I'm voting.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 14:02:26

(that was to both ww and merlot)

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 14:01:49

grin

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 14:01:40

Oh I see. Blimey perhaps you won the day. Make it worth his while cook him something delicious!

merlotgran Thu 23-Jun-16 14:00:56

There was a man outside our village hall asking people which way they voted. DH told him he wasn't going to say because, 'Er indoors might hear me and she thinks I'm voting the same as her.' grin

Oooooh he does love to wind me up!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 13:57:33

Which way he actually voted in the end. He is/was a dyed in the wool Leaver, but I want to know if my arguments won him round.

They were very good arguments.

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 13:53:59

What do you mean?

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 13:50:16

Why won't he tell me???!! hmm

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 13:49:46

Better than agreeing with you and then voting the opposite.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 13:49:09

I would never have believed I could come up with so many arguments to vote for one side, in the space of about seven minutes. Thanks to GN. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 13:48:02

mops you haven't seen Professor Dougans lecture on UK sovereignty.

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 13:26:53

Blimey petra in case you haven't noticed I've been banging on about this for about 500 years. You must have read some of what I have been arguing.

MopsB Thu 23-Jun-16 13:24:59

Vote Leave for the sovereignty of a democratically elected Parliament, the primacy of UK law in our own country, the ability to have bi-lateral trade agreements with non-EU countries and the right to determine who settles in this country.

petra Thu 23-Jun-16 13:17:22

Sorry, meant to say remain.
