Sorry; another objection here! I know a lot of people who voted to leave who are by no means racist nor thick - my husband and son amongst them. I voted to remain but I would be ashamed to use terms like that against people whose views don't happen to be the same as mine.

Just over half the people voted to leave. Why do leavers expect the just under half - a huge number - to be full of joy and positive about something they didn't want to happen?

Given a little time most people will do their best to get on with whatever situation we are presented with. The leaders of leave are already rowing back on some of their promises so we may well find it is not just the remain voters who are not happy in the long run. Unless our internal politics change many of those areas that voted leave will still be very unhappy about what globalisation has done to them.

As for showing respect, the only way you can do that is to accept that everyone is entitled to an opinion but that no one is entitled to expect others to agree with it. This vote is the opinion of fractionally over half the country; to move forward will require all the country and politicians that recognise that.

A rather sweeping statement saying that over 50% of the population are both racist and thick. I think not.
So, are you going to moan about this or take this opportunity to empower change.
There are rumblings in the rest of Europe, couldn't we take this opportunity to start building the foundations for a greater Europe that meets the new ideals of its populous. We would never have facilitated change from the inside and would have gone down with the sinking ship. Britain should show the way. I don't think it will be too long before other nations call referendums.

People bought stocks and shares on the assumption that remain would win and that this morning those same people would be on a nice little earner!! No wonder the deep despair this morning! You have to have just a little maybe private chuckle! Round one to the uneducated I'd say!!

I'm still puzzled by the friend who assured me yesterday that she wouldn't be using her vote as 'we should never have gone into the EU'. ?

It's not a case of not accepting that people have spoken, but I want to know what they want to do now. There don't seem to be many ideas floating about.
