Could I ask what all the grans-netters would do if they were in charge of things right now? What would you like to see happen in this country, regardless of whether you voted to stay or go, and which party you favout? What would be your priorities?

Can we please change the record?

Welshwife Fri 24-Jun-16 22:34:27

If they are made in UK and they wish to export to the EU that is mist unlikely!

numberplease Fri 24-Jun-16 22:16:40

I don`t have much in the way of savings, and my interest rate is already at 0.1%, so can`t get much worse!
I`m hoping to see the return of Britain being able to do as it wants, and not have to dance to the EU`s tune. Do you think that all the products which had to change names will change back again now?

petra Fri 24-Jun-16 19:26:02

I have savings and property. I'm not worried about the market, it will bounce back. In fact it was lower last month.
As for the property, if it drops in value, so be it, it's far too expensive anyway. A good thing I say.

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 24-Jun-16 19:20:42

Sorry - we're = were blush

The decision has been made and it is what it is.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 19:19:15

Just because someone has worked hard and been provident and therefore has some savings, doesn't make them "wealthy".

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 19:17:33

Yes jalima. Very nice about the cheap mortgages I'm sure. But what about people like my singleton teacher daughter. She has worked so hard over the last twenty odd years, and yes she has savings now, through not spending every cent she's earned. Why should should she be on the losing side? She is a very worried woman at the moment. sad

NonnaW Fri 24-Jun-16 19:10:52

As Jalima says, the decision is made. Please let's not forget that a large amount of the population were always going to be upset whatever the result. It is what it is, let's please all move on.

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 24-Jun-16 18:59:26

Margaret none of the things you suggest are anything to do with the EU, but we're political decisions by the government of the day. Those things could have been reinstated any time.

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 18:24:05

Decision's made, like it or not
(I don't)

But - what is the point of wasting time and energy on recriminations, nastiness and what-ifs

As the saying goes, 'Relatives you've got whether you like them or not, friends they come and go'

We abandoned our relatives in favour of our new friends, now those friends have been rejected by a majority of the voters. Will our relatives still love us? hmm

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 18:20:11

I hope none of you have savings
UK interest rate 'likely to hit zero' following Brexit

So - all Gnetters with DC or DGC who cannot afford to buy a house should be pleased then, because mortgages will be at rock bottom.
Every cloud

MargaretinNorthant Fri 24-Jun-16 18:16:25

Meant to say....since we apparently will have some money to spend on this country instead of paying to belong to an expensive club.

I think, Margaret, as someone has said on another thread, it's far too soon to expect any sort of constructive discussion.

MargaretinNorthant Fri 24-Jun-16 18:11:37

Sorry I asked. I thought we might get constructive answers, like giving back the ability to councils to build council housing, or re-opening some of the cottage hospitals, so that people could recouperate there and free up surgical beds. I will shut up

So it was about money with the inners then.Dont know what's worse that or racism.

annsixty Fri 24-Jun-16 15:46:34

Well we do have savings but the drop from 0.3% to zero isn't going to send us to the workhouse. And someone else has said interest rates will rise along with prices etc.
Scaremongers the lot.

Ana Fri 24-Jun-16 15:12:48

Not 'none of us' though.

dramatictessa Fri 24-Jun-16 15:10:49

Actually Ana a lot of people have no savings.

Ana Fri 24-Jun-16 15:08:41

Oh, is it really likely that 'none of us' have savings? hmm You're sounding more and more like dj every day, daphnedill...

daphnedill Fri 24-Jun-16 15:08:22

I'd like to see the return of workhouses, stocks, oubliettes and outside toilets.

daphnedill Fri 24-Jun-16 15:06:54
