12,369 were asked how they had just voted. Their answers are facts, although it is possible they lied.

12,369 is quite a big number for a poll, so it is possible to transfer those results to the whole within a few percentage points.

The results were in line with every single poll and survey which done about voting intentions over the last few months and the work done by Ford and Goodwin, which has used millions of pieces of data. There is no reason to question them.

That's ridiculous, POGS. Are you saying that no poll is to be trusted unless every single person in the country is asked what party they are affiliated to?
Even you must see that dioes not make sense. If lots of them say mind yourown business, it invalidates the poll, does it?

Well, surely even you, Annie, have to admit that what's going on within the Labour Party at the moment is current news. We can speculate all we like about who's going to be the next PM, but this is happening now!

Now the news is all Corbyn and little of Johnson and Gove. Who is going to be the PM in a few months is less important than who will be the labour leader

Unless every single person that voted in the referendum was asked what political party they belong to/support/voted for in the last election it is not fact.

How many people were asked at the polling stations, how many people were asked by phone, how many people rang to tell them (why , I can only think of political motivation and didn't know that happened).

I would never believe information from pollsters as fact, they don't exactly have a good track record.

A few percentage points is statistical error. I believe this started because you don't believe the figures about voter age and party affiliation. All the surveys were within a few percentage points and the trends are quite clear.

You really don't seem to understand economics very well either.

How is an exit poll not an exit poll?
People coming out of a polling station are not all economists. People on yougov are not all economists. In fact, a lot of MPs are on yougov. If you look at their registers of interests it tells you if they make anything from these companies each month.

It seems quite simple to me. After people have voted, you ask them what they voted,and ask them what party they voted for in the last election. Some of them tell you; others do not.
HOW IS THAT NOT A POLL?

I have not really seen or heard Corbyn doing very much at all to promote his views and ideas. He has seemed to me almost invisible.
If he is playing with those "rough Tory boys" he needs to get a more visible and dynamic profile himself.

They are polls, they are not factual!

It's similar to taking the view of economists as factual information, they don't agree with one another and for every left wing economist there is a right wing economist waiting in the wings.

Strangely enough internet polls have always been shown to be more accurate than telephone polls. How do you think telephone polls happen? They are selected on profiles from the census.
Yougov has 350,000. Ashcroft did an exit poll of nearly 12500.
Yougov was about 2% out. It expected 50/50 from the exit polls.

Isn't it funny the Labour party shadow cabinet are all in the news. The Tory Party who are the government are all hiding away somewhere probably plotting something but not telling anybody (deals with Farage and UKIP?)

So that means the figures produced are not worth a tuppenny ha'penny as they rely on people contacting the source, in this case the poll company. What percentage of the 'entire' vote does the poll company rely on for factual information?

From what I have heard, even on Gransnet, the activism on the left is quite a force . It's all spin, mass voting, telling each other where, when and how to 'follow instruction', sign this petition, etc. etc.

It makes the political satire Power Monkeys look like a documentary.

However, your one vote in all those millions counts for as little as mine in an exit poll, unless you tell them.

I am neither a member nor an activist?

I am still asking how does anybody know when I voted in the referendum what political party I voted for in the general election , or indeed at any time?

PS. I've already explained twice how Professor Ford of Manchester Uni worked out his statistics, which are remarkably similar to Ashcroft's results.

They didn't ask me either in their exit polls, but I did get a lot of emails from various groups asking me if I had voted, what I had voted, what I voted in the last election, etc.
