What with Farage and the behaviour of the English fans, it is time we shut up and spent a period of silence with regard to Europe in the hope time will allow the rawness to heal and we can thereafter begin to build relationships again.

Elegran Tue 28-Jun-16 13:03:40

Meanwhile the Faridge the garidge was booed.

varian Tue 28-Jun-16 12:19:12

Well said Alyn Smith. I'm glad you spoke not just for the majority in Scotland, NI and London, but also for the many other millions in England and Wales who voted to remain in this family of nations.

daphnedill Tue 28-Jun-16 12:14:28

Wow! A standing ovation! Thanks for that, Elegran. I couldn't get the BBC link to work.

The MEP (who seemed to be close to tears himself) was SNP MEP Alyn Smith.

Beammeupscottie Tue 28-Jun-16 11:06:19

Scottish MEP gets a standing ovation for saying 'Do not let Scotland down'.

Sinn Fein
Respect the vote of the Northern Irish people.

Ryszard Antoni Legutko Polish Conservative.

The tone of the debate is using the same language as the one you are challenging, you are not listening.

This is what the EU parliament thinks of Farage

Wonderful speech from Scottish emp. It made me cry. Especially after the ridiculous Farage.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:45:45

Junker leaves to meet David Cameron.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:44:51

Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert. EU Presidency.

We must learn from this. Support must be earned from the peoples of Europe.

Beammeupscottie Tue 28-Jun-16 10:42:56

Don't worry Tegan, they have know him for years as a "merchant banker".

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:41:16

Junker telling the Greens off for hypocrisy.

The UK is master of it's own border, it is not in Schengen.

Forage , a liar.

Tegan Tue 28-Jun-16 10:39:32

On a world stage F....e is now representing us and making us a laughing stock.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:38:40

Dianne Dodds. DUP

Let us chart our own course. Democracy has been exercised. Time for cool heads. Let us look forward to a new era where we work closely for ALL the peoples of Europe.

daphnedill Tue 28-Jun-16 10:36:35

I would hope the FTSE is recovering! £3 trillion has already been knocked off shares, so 2.11% isn't much.

The fat cats and the elite (the ones the leavers so despise) will be rubbing their hands in glee, because they couldn't give a monkeys whether prices go up or down, just so long as there's trade and they get their cut.

The companies which have seen their prices rise include the pharma companies, who generally deal in dollars. This is money which won't trickle back into the economy, although oil prices (also in dollars) will affect the person in the street.

It's far more significant that the UK has lost its credit ratings, which means that foreign investors will think very carefully in investing in the UK. Property is a different matter and there will be some good pickings for foreign investors or even UK investors with money in tax havens.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:34:57

Farage booed.

You are in denial your currency is failing, laughing.

Merkel allowing mass immigration is the reason you have divers.

You have 'imposed'a political union, when the people voted in the Netherlands and Ireland and you didn't like the result , what did you do, you ignored them and brought in the Lisbon Treaty.

Dishing out insults and obviously getting a response, fool.

Trade matters, if you cut off your noses off to spite your face then it would hurt you more than us, let's cut a deal to do trade.

He was so stupid I could have screamed. No wonder he was booed it was the last thing we need at the moment.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:24:41

Phillipe Lamberts Belgian Grenns

You can only have Sovereignty if you share Sovereignty.

Promoting tax union, more union, need to look at the disenfranchised throughout the European union and not just the wealthy.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:18:48

Gabriele Zimmer. German left. (I know not 'for' Merkel)

Making a sensible speech over democracy of a referendum, how 'We'the European Union are refusing to look at where we have gone wrong, mentioning Greece, how blind can 'We' be?.

Respect Northern Ireland and Scotland.

POGS Tue 28-Jun-16 10:07:08

Could be a car crash at any time but this is Brexit Watch.

FTSE up 2.11% (610476) £1- euro up 0.30% £1- 1.33 dollar up
67%

Stock markets rallying in Europe too.

The FTSE does include international companies I know but it is hopefully going to settle and the money making /grabbers have had their share of wheeling and dealing/profit making.

Tegan Tue 28-Jun-16 10:00:28

But people used it as a reason to vote leave saying they weren't going to be threatened. Whatever remain said seemed to be turned against them in some way..Gove even saying some things were Nazi propaganda.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 28-Jun-16 09:55:55

(Sorry. Thought my anger had dissipated. Obviously hasn't)

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 28-Jun-16 09:55:08

George was quite upfront about tax rises and cuts, on the Today programme this morning. What did people expect? They were warned.

Tegan Tue 28-Jun-16 09:51:45

.....but don't worry....this will only be temporary...in 20 years time everything will be OK....
