I think it will be interesting to track what the result of the vote brings us. Good or bad.

Friday 24 th June

Result out.

France wants to renegotiate the Le Touquet agreement

£ has the biggest drop since 1985

Mark Carney moved to try to steady the markets

Scottish first minister suggested that they are highly likely to go for a second referendum

Just read the blog about Article 50. So it was all a lot of hot air and expense for nothing if not sent. Well it will please 48% of the people if not sent and displease 52% of the people if not sent. Reminds me of a saying which goes something like this: "You can please some of the people all of the time etc....."
How to make yourself unpopular in one referendum.

Haven't seen him for weeks

Devorgilla Sat 25-Jun-16 14:39:22

dj: thanks for the link. Hunt, now that would be a nightmare if he got to sit in the Headmaster's chair.

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 14:38:46

See Lord Hall was making it easier for Financial Services to trade in the EU. We would have been the biggest winner now we will be the biggest loser.

Devorgilla Sat 25-Jun-16 14:38:12

Can't we just tell the EU it was our British sense of warped humour and we were just 'aving a larf, squire?

jackofkent.com/2016/06/why-the-article-50-notification-is-important/

Sarah Wollaston is the health committee chair. She is looking forward to asking them about the £350 million a week they promised to the NHS.

Has anyone seen Hunt lately?

Devorgilla Sat 25-Jun-16 14:36:14

Whitewall, I would like to have had sight of it before the vote. Think they must be off consulting the Oracle.

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 14:35:27

Gideons toast. Apparently he was the one who pushed Cameron into this mess. I always said he is too clever for his own good. Or should that be arrogant? No news of emergency budget - idiot.

Devorgilla Sat 25-Jun-16 14:34:28

A lot of attention being given to when, if ever, we activate the Article 50. I am given to believe we remain a member if we don't. Anyone know how that works? Do we get all the benefits and a seat at the table or are we looking in with nose pressed to glass?

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 14:33:43

Excuse me whilst I go and poke them awake with a stick. They all seem to be having a duvet day. The best thing we can hope for is that they are furiously at work getting all their action plan finalised. Wish they'd tell us though.

Devorgilla Sat 25-Jun-16 14:31:43

Anyone seen Gideon?

Gracesgran Sat 25-Jun-16 14:29:55

That's what I call chaos WWsmile

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 14:22:44

Chaos what chaos????? There is bugger all happening in Westminster apart from intense navel gazing over the leadership campaign whilst the country falls around their ears.

Gracesgran Sat 25-Jun-16 14:19:02

Scotland
- the cabinet has formally agree to put in place the necessary legislation for new referendum.

- Nicola Sturgeon to lobby EU members to support Scotland's bid to remain.

- Advisory panel to be formed

Considering the chaos in Westminster they might do well to look North.

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 14:14:16

I can verify the C&E officers blog.

Remember purchase tax too?

VAT is an EU tax.

More money to spend on trying to sort out the mess.

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 14:11:28

There is a probably not such an obscure law that says if a contract is based on lies then that contract is deemed invalid.

The leave campaign was based on lies.

Lawyers are looking into it.

Brexit will introduce more red tape, not less. From a retired HMRC inspector.

Beammeupscottie Sat 25-Jun-16 14:02:51

I am extremely worried about the City. Our banking industry is good for Britain. Does anyone know if they can survive outside the EU?

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 13:42:25

Oh oh oh varian

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 13:41:54

Good job we didn't lose the referendum because of project fear. It would have been dreadful if what we forecast came true grrrr!!!

varian Sat 25-Jun-16 13:41:36

So Sad

durhamjen Sat 25-Jun-16 13:39:11

That's why all the bankers in London have to move, to keep the EU passport.
Meltdown.

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 13:35:57

Lord Hill resigned -disappointed at result. That's probably an understatement. Our financial services are to lose the EU passport. Oh joy.

whitewave Sat 25-Jun-16 13:19:40
