Wales has always welcomed immigrants, unlike England, it was wrong for Cameron to choose June for the referendum, we were fighting our own election untill May, didn't give the politicians very long to get going on the referendum campaign ,yet in May labour lost only one seat which was good taking into account the problems here

I think it must all come down to distrust in politicians. Wales doesn't have a particular issue with immigration (not like some parts of England) and sovereignty isn't really an issue either.

A very strange result indeed.

The affluent areas of Wales voted to remain, Cardiff and Monmouth

I saw it coming from the farmers but not the valleys yet I know there is much anger that again they been let down, iron works, coal mines , Steel works . Nothing left for them . Still England feeds and clothes us as they do Scotland

I think just a few words cover the reasons - immigrants - jobs and control. All rubbish really. My personal opinion is that many people are confused about immigrants - they are doing jobs the Nationals will not stick at. Anyone in country areas finds employment difficult and there are misconceptions about control. The farmers who also do well from the EU also wanted to leave - they were persuaded they will still get the same money - has it been admitted yet that this too was a lie?

Same as the North East, gettingonabit. They couldn't have it any worse, so went for a change. That's what they thought, anyway.

I can't get over Wales. I just can't make sense of it. Why the heck did those areas that have been so dependent on EU funding voting to leave? These are some of the poorest areas in the UK.

Wales does have control of its Education - all children learn Welsh till at least 16. Most of the curriculum is the same as England. Some schools are much better than others just as some areas are much poorer than others - particularly where the pits were - many in a valley which goes nowhere. These places are difficult to attract business to - therefore great swathes of unemployment. Many of these valleys are now all beautiful and green again but people have to travel poor toads to get anywhere for employment. Difficult lives and not their fault - many cannot move away to other areas. This is why they received EU funding - I am both very sad and surprised that these people voted to leave the EU - they more than many areas really need this money to improve their lives.

Ceesnan just to make it crystal clear, Scotland gets no money from England.

Also a fact - all who voted in Wales were 18 and over, they were educated under English rule

Wales has received Money from the EU because it is the poorest country in the UK.

Some of Wales voted to leave not all of Wales. South Wales knows much poverty and there is no hope

Odd that. They've done well out of EU spending. Probably down to lack of decent education amongst the Welsh masses.
