Jamila, how can Monmouth voters be classed as Welsh? Someone posted here this week it was English untill the seventies , and Monmouthshire has been placed along with the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff as the wealthy areas of Wales. Comparing Monmouth with Merthyr or Blaina is the same as comparing the Cotswolds with Hull

There's quite a call for "Londonexit" - after all 78% of us voted to Remain. Thats the one thing that gives me some solace.

daphne what did your In- laws mean about not knowing Welsh people who qualified to vote? There was no qualification other than being on the electoral roll. I voted in the devolution polls (living in Wales) and we both voted 'no' to having an assembly. However I must say that it has worked far better than we dared hope and the current Furst Minister is very very good - he is also a great family man!!

Having just seen some of the people who are so pleased they voted 'out' I would say that I am twenty years older than them so where do they get the statistics?

They are English and all their friends and neighbours were English.

Annibach Why the sarcastic comment. When I said my friends had a business and were providing employment I was merely pointing out that they were making a contribution to the area. They are now making that contribution in the North of England.

There should have been a box on the ballot paper for a tick for nationality, I would like to know how many who voted out in Wales were not Welsh
Cardiff and Monmouthshire probably have a higher percentage of non-Welsh, and voted Remain

I think they just expected their neighbours to speak (perhaps they couldn't pass the time of day to the English newcomers because they only spoke Welsh)

I think a lot of people could see that the result in Wales was predictable, with the return of 7 UKIP members to the Assembly so recently.

Nothing sarcastic sunseeker,just many years of mixing with lovely English people and arrogant English people in Wales , your statement - providing employment ? What has that to do with moving to Wales ? Nothing . We have English in my area who have retired here and have enrolled in Welsh language classes, we also have had English people who complained because a church service was in Welsh - in The Church of Wales !

FTSE closed at 3% down But this was only after the BoE stepped with£250bn of OUR MONEY
There is likely to be serious implications in the Financial Services in London where 360k people are employed. Many of these businesses are likely to relocate to Europe.

Rolls Royce and Jaguar pledge to stand by their work force.

Gosh just think what would have happened if remain had been correct in their Project fear!!!!!!! How very dare Brexit suggest we didn't know what we were talking about!!

I meant Monmouthshire and Cardiff (not sure where you live anyway, perhaps one of those places).

For those who give forth such platitudes as "oh it is only temporary" and not to worry etc. Have they any idea the world wide activity now being undertaken in damage limitation? The time and money it is costing? The fallout from this vote onto ordinary folk? As they are always the ones to suffer.

My brother in law lives in Chepstow. That is half Welsh and Half English, I think, divided by the River Wye bridge. He is happy to live the Welsh side. Most of Monmouthshire is in Wales.

And they want us to serve article 50 quickly, Gracesgran. They do not want to go by Cameron's timetable.
Wouldn't you have thought with all his talks in Brussels, he would have sorted that out?

gracesgran that's right.The 27 will then meet ( and I am sure they are doing this already) and decide on divorce settlement. We have no say whatsoever. Don't forget we helped to devise this.

We can then try to negotiate a better deal, but anyone of the 27 can veto it.

Of course we can always say sod it and go on our own. But forget any sort on world economic influence or healthy growth. The future is going to be incredibly difficult. I hope the Brexiters are up to it? What do you think?
