I voted to stay, but I must admit I'd really like my blue passport back again. When we moved to Switzerland we all still had our blue passports and when one of my DSs went on a school trip to Germany, they had to take their passports with them, and the teacher passed his all round the class for them to admire.
That's my only contribution to this discussion. It would be nice to have a constructive political discussion on GN, but unfortunately any that start become more and more unpleasant between fewer and fewer contributors as the posts go on. No doubt this also will be subject to some unpleasant comment.

I am a retired teacher, so I can spell. I have a broken wrist, so quite often make mistakes in typing but try to correct them if it doesn't hurt too much by the time I have noticed.
If you call me a whinger, of course I notice, especially if it is spelled wrongly.

I never read the Sun myself, durhamjen, and wouldn't take what they print as 'the truth', although you obviously do.

PS We were forced to,take an English for Scientist course and exam in the 6th form....does anyone else remember that circa 1965ish.

But I will admit that certain words I rarely see written down (such as bugger) occasionally, aided and abetted by my iPad and achy finger, do get me noticed by you. So I admit I'm not perfect. ...how about you?

I notice over 51% of those who responded strongly agree that the £350 million a week should go to the NHS, and another 30% agree.

Lets not forget only 37% voted to leave. Those who did not vote were presumably happy with the status quo.

We live in a parliamentary democracy so there must be a free vote in parliament before billions are needlessly spent on the destruction of our ties with our Europeaen neighbours.

For their own reasons Rupert Murdoch and the rest of the tax evading plutocrats who control most of our press helped to bring about this mess, cheered on by Donald Trump, Marine le Pen and Vladimir Putin.
