Jalima Some people are having difficulty understanding that the remain camp lost the vote. They failed. They lost. They came second.

Anya Tue 26-Jul-16 19:11:45

DD who voted for 'out' are stupid and ignorant then?

whitewave Tue 26-Jul-16 18:53:37

Just watched the news about the hate crimes being committed since Brexit. Unbelievable.

durhamjen Tue 26-Jul-16 18:45:58

Smileless, are you saying that those who voted to leave are not racist or misogynistic, do not have dangerous views and are not capable of dangerous actions?
The media would suggest otherwise.
I am sure that women can hate women.

daphnedill Tue 26-Jul-16 18:45:33

@Anya

I'm not complaining. Complaints without solutions are futile.

I'm still dumbfounded that people who voted Leave still don't seem to know what they actually voted for and whether whatever it is can be achieved.

If this were happening in another country, I'd find it mildly amusing.

daphnedill Tue 26-Jul-16 18:42:18

@smileless

So you didn't like what was happening. What exactly didn't you like?

You then vote to leave, although you don't know whether that will improve the situation.

So you voted for something which will cause all sorts of complications and cost billions without knowing what the implications would be. hmm

Smileless In answer to your question at 18.25. It adds fuel to the fire.

I don't think Southend is much competition to Stansted, petra. grin It's a bit like David and Goliath.

Michael O'Leary said,

“Until some clarity emerges over the next two years about the UK’s long-term political and economic relationships with the EU, we will be unable to predict what effect it will have on our business and regulatory environment, but we have contingency plans in place for all eventualities,” he said.

He added that over the longer term, there might be some opportunity for Ryanair if its UK-based competitors were no longer permitted to operate routes from one EU destination to another or were forced to sell their majority ownership of EU-registered airlines.

He added: “If the UK is unable to negotiate access to the single market/open skies it may have implications for our three UK domestic routes and UK nationals on our share register, but these risks are not material and will be manageable.”

Pre-tax profit increased by 3% to €286.5m (£240m) in the first quarter ending 30 June, while revenue was up 2% at €1.69bn."

granjura Tue 26-Jul-16 18:34:58

The point smileless- was about expectations that REMAINERS should not accept that they have 'lost' and keep stumm.

Smileless2012 Tue 26-Jul-16 18:25:06

I sincerely hope, and pray that Trump doesn't become president of the USA but what do his "racist, msyoginist and dangerous views and actions" have to do with this discussion granjura?

Surely you're not suggesting that those of us who voted to leave are racist and msyognist, have dangerous views and are capable of dangerous actionsshock. Can a woman be msyoginist?confused.

durhamjen Tue 26-Jul-16 18:09:29

"Stansted is Ryanair’s biggest airport base, with 40 out of a total fleet of 350 aircraft located there. Neil Sorahan, the chief financial officer, said airports in Italy, Spain and Germany would all be targets for growth as it eyes greater expansion outside the UK.
Michael O’Leary, Ryanair’s chief executive, said: “We will pivot our growth away from UK airports and focus more on growing at our EU airports over the next two years. This winter we will cut capacity and frequency on many London Stansted routes, although no routes will close.” "

That's not what the boss says. Ryanair is a Dublin based airline. It does not need the planes to be based in non-EU countries.

petra Tue 26-Jul-16 17:32:19

According to the market research company, Kantar Worldpanel, a basket of groceries is 1.4% cheaper than a year ago.
More gloom and doom.

petra Tue 26-Jul-16 13:37:57

Whitewave I think you'll find that the reason Ryanair is cutting flights from Stanstead is because they have been badly hit by easy jet flying out of Southend.

granjura Tue 26-Jul-16 13:05:51

Anya- if and when Trump is elected- do you believe the Democrats will just lie down and accept it- and watch whilst he destroys the country? Or will they continue to fight and try to curtail his racist, mysoginist and dangerous views and actions?

granjura Tue 26-Jul-16 13:03:41

Where is Saint Francis of Assisi when you need him...

Smileless2012 Tue 26-Jul-16 12:58:17

Off to the hair dressers now but I might get back before Anya

Smileless2012 Tue 26-Jul-16 12:57:31

OK Anyagrindon't be too long though. Well, not owning a crystal ball daphnedill, I'm assuming that when you refer to 'they' you mean those who voted to leave, I can't say I did or do know what would happen, but I didn't like what was happening and had been happening due to our membership of the EU for several years, so I voted to leave.

Anya Tue 26-Jul-16 12:53:27

Sorry, just spotted your last post DD

I cannot tell if you are actually jumping up and down, so I'll have to take your word for that, but you ARE doing a lot of complaining grin

Must fly now....

daphnedill Tue 26-Jul-16 12:52:15

Are you really sure they knew what would happen? I'm not convinced they did.

Anya Tue 26-Jul-16 12:51:21

Smileless I'll hand over to you as I have to go down the allotment now.

TTFN!

daphnedill Tue 26-Jul-16 12:50:57

I'm not jumping up and down and complaining, but I'm no fool either. I have decisions to make and I'll keep an eye on the economy and factors which could affect me, as I have always done.

By assuming that the government and civil service will carry on regardless, I find your post very negative. I thought this whole thing was supposed to be about 'taking back control'. It seems you don't think you have any control after all.

Well, BREXITEERS have had their say, they've got their control, now it's up to them to do something with it to make life better and keep their promises. They can't expect not to be held to account.

Anya Tue 26-Jul-16 12:47:49

How are you WW going to change something as big as this?

With all the courage in the world, and I doubt not you are a courageous woman, and a feisty one at that, you cannot.

Smileless2012 Tue 26-Jul-16 12:46:19

OK I'm up to date now. Anyasmile.

Smileless2012 Tue 26-Jul-16 12:38:44

I am not washing my hands of my responsibility to vote leave durhamjen (sorry ladies haven't been back on since page 11) and Cameron DID need a plan if the vote was to leave or how else did he expect to continue as PM if vote leave won? Unless of course he lied when he said he'd remain regardless of the result, because he never had any intention of staying if he lost.

Right back to where I'd left off on page 11.

granjura Tue 26-Jul-16 12:38:40

Oh no, Maggie if back and on GN! Cringeworthy indeed angry

NfkDumpling Tue 26-Jul-16 12:25:21

Of course it isn't an option for the government daphine, but it has to be for us. We can jump up and down and complain as much as we like, the government and civil service will carry on with their own agenda. I'm getting very cynical in my old age and I do wonder what the real intentions of this government was and is.
