A lot of interesting and informative posts. I find the re occurring view that those of you who voted to stay in the EU knew what you were doing, and that those of us who voted to leave were mere fools taken in by the lies of the BREXIT campaign rather unpalatable.
At the beginning of the campaign, Cameron pledged to lead this country regardless of the outcome, and yet within a few hours of the result being made known, tendered his resignation.
He thought another captain would be better placed to steer this country into the new waters that lay ahead. Waters that would never have been entered had he not given every voter the right to decide whether or not we wished to remain in the EU.
I voted to leave, I don't regret my decision nor do I feel in any way compelled to explain or justify it and I wouldn't expect anyone who voted to remain to do so either.
One of the reasons there is so much uncertainty as to our future is because the man at the helm, the man who enabled this decision to be taken in the first place, jumped ship. He didn't put his job on the line when he called for the vote because he didn't expect it to go the way it did. His arrogance was so great that he never envisaged losing and when he did, he threw his toys out of the play pen and resigned.
When he resigned there were many platitudes as to why he will be remembered. I'll remember him as a PM who failed to keep his word. I don't believe that our country is a sinking ship, but for me Cameron, whether we sink or float, will always be the rat who jumped.
