Jalima Some people are having difficulty understanding that the remain camp lost the vote. They failed. They lost. They came second.

Ana Sun 04-Sept-16 17:47:26

Varian referred to this stupid decision by 37% of the electorate. I was giving my opinion - I think I'm still allowed to do that.

Tegan Sun 04-Sept-16 17:37:05

What decision was that?

Tegan Sun 04-Sept-16 17:34:48

..of course, he's a bit tied up at the moment sorting out the planning permission [or lack of it] for his multi million pound swimming pool....still,filling it in again will create a few jobs #karma

Ana Sun 04-Sept-16 17:34:05

What a pity the Remainers don't realise that it was their own decision which was stupid, which is why the Leave vote won. It would save all this gnashing of teeth and wailing.

Tegan Sun 04-Sept-16 17:31:45

I've just sent an email; if I don't get a reply I shall put pen to paper and write. I do prefer sending a letter [which, I believe puts more pressure on the recipient to reply]but I'll try the email route first#neverunderestimatethepowerofthepen

durhamjen Sun 04-Sept-16 17:27:29

Those are details, Varian.
Noticeable today that both Japan and China are being anti-Britain, and Obama said he'd put the EU in front of the UK in exports.

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 17:25:13

Sigh! hmm

varian Sun 04-Sept-16 17:21:42

The awful results of this stupid decision by 37% of the electorate have not kicked in yet and will not do so until if/when the guullible minority of the electorate have their way.

In the worst scenario this would happen two years after Article 50 is invoked. At best this will never happen. But even so this ridiculous ill-conceived referendum has irrevocably diminished our country's standing in the world and damaged our grandchildren's future.

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 17:20:32

What tosh!

Tegan Sun 04-Sept-16 17:18:18

Well, maybe we're actually doing something while we're moaning whereas a lot of other people are just sitting back waiting for Utopia to arrive [eventually].

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 17:05:53

It's yet another chance to moan.

Ana Sun 04-Sept-16 17:00:12

What's noticeable from threads such as this is that all the disappointed ad angry Remain voters seem to want detailed answers and action Right Now.

We were all warned before the referendum that it would take several years to sort out arrangements if the vote was to Leave, and it will.

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 16:57:43

What a lot of nonsense, scribbling letters to Dyson......and you know that you won't.

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 16:55:05

Djen as regards 'groupies'.........grin that's because POGS talks a lot of sense.

durhamjen Sun 04-Sept-16 16:53:03

Brilliant idea, Tegan.
Do you have an address for him, or should we just google to do likewise?

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 16:52:15

Great post POGS .
Am on a little holiday at the moment, and the hotel owner told us today that he used to farm in Kent, but bit by bit the EU rules and regulations on farming destroyed his livelihood. He had a small farm, a mix of hops/fruit and animals, which had been in his family for generations. He said that in order to comply with the rules AND make a profit only large farms could possibly compete. He is very bitter indeed.

Tegan Sun 04-Sept-16 16:51:13

Well, I'm going to write to Dyson and request that, now he has the referendum result he campaigned for he brings his workforce back to this country from Malaysia, preferably to Wales or Cornwall, to help with employment there. Which might ease the situation slightly#notholdingmybreaththough

Ana Sun 04-Sept-16 16:45:06

That's odd, I was apparently stalking someone else yesterday...grin

MargaretX Sun 04-Sept-16 16:44:08

When you are talkimg about growth, the countries that had fallen back and were struggling on the brink of recession suddenly get a bit of luck or their luck turns and they GROW.

Then, just catching up, their growth is much better than the EU meaning Germany Netherlands or France. Of course they have more growth. The are coming up from a lower point in the scale.

The BBC and the politicians should wait 6 months and then see what real growth looks like.

I can imagine that Brexit will do alright for business and profits but for the poor areas which gained under the EU payments and support will suffer. They will wait a long time until millions -no billions are given to Wales and Cornwall.

I got a new freezer the other day and noticed that the safety of the plugs and sockets was a EU safety regulation. Thanks for that EU!

durhamjen Sun 04-Sept-16 16:41:25

I see your groupies are on, POGS.

durhamjen Sun 04-Sept-16 16:40:33

www.richardcorbett.org.uk/pro-european-tories/

Here's some more detailed guesswork.

rosesarered Sun 04-Sept-16 16:36:20

I do! grin Keep it up POGS

Ana Sun 04-Sept-16 16:32:57

So did I POGS, but I suppose good news isn't what people on this thread want to hear...

POGS Sun 04-Sept-16 16:28:28

I thought I had produced detail. Oh well.

durhamjen Sun 04-Sept-16 15:56:41

Elegran, Theresa May did not suggest that this morning. She said that the US was the UK's biggest export market.
The only way that can be true is if she negotiates with all EU countries separately, which is what I said.

POGS, plenty of guesses at to how Brexit has been viewed. Not quite the same as details.
