10 year jail sentence for FGM in Russia

According to this report, Russia is proposing a ten year jail term for anyone found guilty of practising female genital mutilation.

At least in Russia they will not have the cushy life that they would have in prison here. I hope that 10 years means that.

Hmm. Sounds as though the woman who introduced the bill, is not around anymore. Did it actually go through? I can't believe Putin cares tuppence for Muslim women and girls.
