Hospital cleaners -East Europeans as we're the food staff. Nurses of course from all over the world as we're the doctors.
Last hotel we stayed in Harrogate cleaners and waiting staff European.
Hotel I regularly go for a meal trains young staff from Europe, Australia and Britain. Waiting staff mixture. Cleaners mixture
Local car cleaners -European
Local Costa and Starbucks -European.
Local wine producers employs Europeans at harvest time. I could go on but you get my drift?

A lot of remainers both on here and in parliament long for Brexit to fail and will use every means available to engineer just that, then we can go crawling back to the EU, beg forgiveness for our errant ways and pray on our knees like naughty children for them to take us back! Politicians whose constituents voted to leave are now trying their best to undermine the very people who put then into parliament in the first place! As I understand it, MP's are voted to uphold the wishes of the people they represent, not undermine it! These are the same politicians who bang on relentlessly about democracy, presumably only when it suits?!!!

That does sound rather drastic; the hospital porters I have encountered on my trips recently have been British, the cleaners were British and the hotel we stayed at in Devon had British staff. The cleaner who comes to my neighbours is British too. Mostly British in the shops we go to, etc etc. We have changed back to a British plumber after a disaster with an Eastern European one.
Not all these jobs are filled by 'foreigners' in this area.

It may be the case where others live, but to state that none of these jobs would be done and that Britain would grind to a halt is quite a sweeping statement.

Well, experts have been ignored in the decision making.

Sometimes I actually discuss what would be good for the UK and not a particular party.

An election as a result of the government falling because parliament was not consulted from day 1 and therefore could not approve the final negotiated settlement would be catastrophic for the U.K. I would care less who got in I wouldn't want the damned election in the first place.

Ana whatever the headline the figures are from Govt papers so not just plucked out of the air by a newspaper. I realise that there are some people who naturally have a worrying side to their nature and I am one of those - need plans A, B, C and D! I am making various plans depending on what the outcome seems to be for us - there are a number of things which will directly affect us - like with other people living in the EU.

One article giving some hope for us today is that the last thing the Govt wants is for all the expats to move back to UK as they would not be able to cope! Will they bar us too and say we are immigrants?

53 billion would represent 50% of the NHS budget. If any party put forward plans to cut 50% of the NHS budget - I am sure most Brexiters would be up in arms and going berserk.

Strangely enough lots of people believed some/most of the headlines in the gutter press on the run up to the referendum. And I don't think they used the word 'could'; they were mostly a statement of 'fact'. However, most of the comments were about migrants etc and we all know that people didn't vote for that reason.

Well, according to latest polls the Conservatives now have a 17 point lead over Labour. So an election doesn't sound like a good idea for Corbyn at the moment.

Interesting to read that even some Tory MPs who voted Brexit are getting alarmed at the coterie plus 1. Stephen Phillips who voted to leave said that to negotiate Brexit without any regard to parliament was " fundamentally undemocratic, unconstitutional and cuts right across the rights and privileges of the legislature" we didn't he goes on to say vote to restore the sovereignty of parliament only to see one tyranny to be replaced by another. A government (of three plus one) that apparently wishes To ignore the views of the house on the most important issue facing the nation.

Other Brexiters are showing real concern at this turn of events.
Dominic Grieve - former attorney general- said that the government risked falling if it fails to carry parliament with it in deal for Brexit. There would he concludes have to be an election.

Oh! good even more chaos!

The actual headline is 'Hard Brexit could cost £66bn a year'. Not is likely to.

No food picking, and on and on. Also there are a lot of "foreigners" who have started businesses giving people employment.

When we came through Caen about three weeks ago the Bureau was giving less than a Euro for a pound when the midpoint rate was something like 1.14 - they always give a bad rate. Mid point today is 1.10 - one Euro costing 90p. I keep a watchful eye on the rate as we are still paid in sterling.

I too hope the migrants get their day showing how they would be missed - the sooner the better.

Anyone feeling confident that Theresa May and the Three Brexiteers have a plan at all? Or confident that they are going to steer a safe passage?
Westminster joke is that they are passing around blank sheets of paper at the moment because nobody knows where to start.
Many of those who voted leave sneered before the referendum at any suggestion there might be negative impacts. I trust they will not whinge about the cost of going on holiday in the coming year. Apparently some airport currency exchanges are now giving less than one euro for a pound.
Glad that Ed Miliband is pushing for the involvement of parliamentary votes on how this should go forward.

It astonishes me that three months later we are still seeing comments about "won" and "lost", as if the future of the country was some sort of football match.

We do still have supporters in Parliament, which presumably is why our little coterie of 3+1 is busy trying to by pass that sovereign place.

At least 48% voted to remain - not an insignificant amount - but they are never even acknowledged (except by Guy Verhofstadt) - Britain has airbrushed anyone who did not vote to leave.
