Mosborough (Sheffield) result:
LDEM: 45.6% (+31.8)
LAB: 34.1% (-9.2)
UKIP: 12.4% (-9.8)
CON: 6.1% (-7.9)
GRN: 1.8% (-1.3)

The LibDems won a council seat from Labour yesterday with a huge swing. Does anybody know this seat and know what's going on?

It is Mike Sivier's blog, Annie. What do you expect?
Progress writes against Corbyn. Labourlist is against Corbyn.
Every bit of media you can think of is against Corbyn.
Someone's got to write a blog on his side.

durhamjen Sun 18-Sept-16 15:03:39

POGS, a bit of balance against someone who completely denigrates everything that Corbyn says.

Annie, can you tell me which of Corbyn's policies you disagree with?

Anniebach Sun 18-Sept-16 12:55:32

No I haven't forgotten, and it is worse now than fifty years ago

MaizieD Sun 18-Sept-16 12:51:30

Can you compare warfare now to fifty years ago? The world is so unstable now , impossible to compare it with fifty years ago

And no doubt people were saying precisely that to the CND marchers. Everyone in history has thought it's 'worse now than it used to be'

Surely you haven't forgotten the Cuban Missile crisis and the cold War? Pretty scary and unstable feeling at the time... Russia and the USA squaring up to each other all the time in third party countries. Scared the sh*t out of me at the time...

Anniebach Sun 18-Sept-16 12:06:29

No one writes for vixpoliticalonline unless MidWalesMike agrees with their political views , this is why there will be no political views from the centre . Balanced? No way.

Far left propaganda ? every time,

Anniebach Sun 18-Sept-16 12:01:07

I will agree, you are very like Corbyn Jen, pipe dreams before the needs of the vunerable

POGS Sun 18-Sept-16 11:58:19

How on earth could Paul Mason be said to give ' a bit of balance'? He starts off by saying-

"In the past two days there’s been a clear, programmed switch of emphasis in the Labour right’s campaign against Jeremy Corbyn.
They have switched from attacking Corbyn himself to attacking Momentum, the grassroots campaign set up by his supporters after he won last time, and which forms the backbone of his leadership campaign now."

Past 2 days! Momentum evolved following Corbyn's successful Labour Leadership win at the tail end of 2015 and it only took about 2 days after it's formation for the comments and concerns to be raised about who was behind it and how it would likely progress. It didn't take long for those voices to be proved to have some genuine reason for concern and the concerns were coming from the Labour MP's too who were on the receiving end.

Paul Mason gives his view, fair enough, but it can hardly be described as 'giving balance' given his political history.

durhamjen Sun 18-Sept-16 11:53:17

I know that, Annie, you've told me often enough.
What's that got to do with an article by Paul Mason.

You know lots more people in the Labour party than I do.
Fortunately, like Corbyn, I don't do innuendo.

Anniebach Sun 18-Sept-16 11:50:03

MidWalesMike is the editor of vovpolitical, I certaintly know more of him than you

It's Paul Mason, not Mike Sivier. However, you are probably prejudiced against him as well.

I bet he won't.

MidWalesMike ! Pass

voxpoliticalonline.com/2016/09/17/elite-goes-tinfoil-over-momentum-paul-mason/

For a bit of balance.

There is no evidence that abandoning nuclear weapons would put the people of this country at risk. Indeed it can be argued that the huge amount spent on Trident would be better used to increase our standard military capacity. If the young of this country are once again concerned about war I am very pleased. I remember Baez and Dylan and a movement that put a stop to the war in Vietnam.

Anniebach Sat 17-Sept-16 22:42:08

Gets worse, Corbyn is going to have members of the party choose the some of the shadow chainpbinet , which mean momentum will choose and Corbyn is windening the gap between himself and the MP's , he realy is determined to destroying the Labour Party

Anniebach Sat 17-Sept-16 21:40:53

What is troubling is the young who have flocked to join Momentum believe he can bring bring world peace, very much like the young in the sixties, he spoke recently about Dylan and Baez, how many of us remember the excitement of the sixties, world peace, protest songs, JFK, King, Corbyn is still in that decade, hence, rather unkindly I refer to him as an aging hippie but it's true, he is feeding the young false hope.

rosesarered Sat 17-Sept-16 21:12:22

Corbyn loves talking, and to talk about talking, to sit on committees, and debate this that and the other. If that's what you need, he is your man ( unless you want real concrete answers.)

rosesarered Sat 17-Sept-16 21:10:15

None!

Ana Sat 17-Sept-16 20:35:44

In principle, I agree. But what government leader would put the citizens of his/her country at risk for just a pipe-dream?

Anniebach Sat 17-Sept-16 20:34:39

Then why not say the truth? We should give up all warfare bu this will have no influence on the rest of the world.

trisher Sat 17-Sept-16 20:30:51

If a country cannot lead by good example but must set their standards by the least principled rulers then of course you are completely right. I see nothing wrong with believing that doing the right thing is something to aspire to.

Ana Sat 17-Sept-16 20:17:29

And be really influenced by any decision the UK made about nuclear disarmament...

POGS Sat 17-Sept-16 20:15:39

trisher

I am sure Kim Jong Un, President Assad, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi
will hang on Corbyn's ever word.
