Do you think Hillary will be well enough to continue her campaign for the Presidency? and if not how much of a setback will that be for the democrats?

Jalima Fri 16-Sept-16 21:30:25

Couldn't see how the paragraph took us forward.
Interesting though; I had never realised that there were so many types (plus more apparently).
I thought pneumonia was pneumonia.

^The last American president to die of pneumonia was William Henry Harrison.
He was 68 and was in office for 32 days in 1841.^
Another interesting snippet, doesn't take us forward but interesting nonetheless.

I started posting after Elegran's' post jingl and before you slipped in your words of wisdom. It takes me quite a while these days to get myself into gear and then the iPad plays up.

I didn't realise that GN threads had to move forward anyway as most of them seem to go round in circles wink

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Sept-16 16:32:38

grin I live my life that way.

Couldn't see how the paragraph took us forward.

Anya Fri 16-Sept-16 16:31:31

You confused again jingl ??

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Sept-16 16:08:44

And? confused

From NHS Choices

"Both types of pneumococcal vaccine encourage your body to produce antibodies against pneumococcal bacteria. Antibodies are proteins produced by the body to neutralise or destroy disease-carrying organisms and toxins. They protect you from becoming ill if you are infected with the bacteria.
More than 90 different strains of the pneumococcal bacterium have been identified, though only 8 to 10 of them cause the most serious infections.
The childhood vaccine (PCV) protects against 13 strains of the pneumococcal bacterium, while the adult vaccine (PPV) protects against 23 strains.
The pneumococcal vaccine is thought to be around 50-70% effective at preventing pneumococcal disease.
Both the PPV and the PCV are inactivated or "killed" vaccines and do not contain any live organisms. They cannot cause the disease against which they protect."

The fact that hat she got it at all is the thing. She must be run down from the pressure and the physical demands. Still, the brain is the important thing, and hers is better than Trump's!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Sept-16 15:56:55

I guess she's had the jab and would have had it worse without it. (50-70% effective)

Elegran Fri 16-Sept-16 15:51:48

It doesn't cover all the types.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Sept-16 15:44:57

Don't we oldies get a jab against pneumonia? Or is that another something different? Pneumococcal something. I had it, whatever it was.

Elegran Fri 16-Sept-16 15:18:37

There is more than one type of pneumonia. The word covers lung infections of several kinds and degrees of severity.

Sheilasue Fri 16-Sept-16 14:41:18

America is in turmoil anyway and Trump will make things far worse

Humbertbear Fri 16-Sept-16 14:33:01

I was shocked to see people talking about her 'insatiable ambition'. No one would ever describe a man in those terms.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Sept-16 13:59:44

She seemed much better when I saw her on the news last night. She's not a thin woman so she's got something to fall back on.

durhamjen Fri 16-Sept-16 13:57:11

Fingers crossed for Hillary Clinton, then, polly.

pollyperkins Fri 16-Sept-16 13:54:13

But People can still die of pneumonia! I knew someone whp fid, in the late 1980s. There must be different sorts.

durhamjen Fri 16-Sept-16 11:25:06

The last American president to die of pneumonia was William Henry Harrison.
He was 68 and was in office for 32 days in 1841.

I think medicine has improved since then.

Tegan Fri 16-Sept-16 10:05:19

Who is that Rhinestone? I can remember many years ago chatting to an American in Ireland who told us that this amazing man called Obama would be president one day smile. I also don't know much about Bernie Sanders [sp]who sounds like a really good guy.

Rhinestone Fri 16-Sept-16 09:19:11

And Trump has a NARCISSTIC personality. You can't cure that with antibiotics.

There is a third candidate that is very interesting but the way our system is set up with the electoral college he could never win. We need a better system I think .

Luckygirl Fri 16-Sept-16 08:52:20

Don't get it myself - the woman has a bit of a chest infection, as any of us might, and suddenly she is regarded as too ill to vote for.

Rhinestone Fri 16-Sept-16 08:49:21

If I am correct I believe Churchill was 77 the second time he was Prime Minister and had all ready had pneumonia several times as well as a stroke. If Hillary were a man this would not be an issue I believe.

Pollengran Thu 15-Sept-16 18:33:10

Dr Ted Noel gives his viewpoint on YouTube. It is worth a look as there seems to have been some sort of blackout of information regarding this.

Lewlew Thu 15-Sept-16 18:26:44

Jalima You are completely right. But I guess 'sane' people don't want their lives put under a microscope. Colin Powell would have been a very electable candidate vs GWBush, but his wife absolutely did not want to be under that kind of media scrutiny.

I guess it's like why some women do not want to be Prince Harry's wife here, because of the 'fishbowl' life they'd be leading.

Jalima Wed 14-Sept-16 21:45:00

Lewlew that is interesting that media intrusion is the reason that there is a dearth of candidates in a country with a huge population.

I have often thought 'is this the best that America can produce?'

Jalima Wed 14-Sept-16 21:42:57

Peaseblossom
But you are going to vote for her because.... you don't like Donald Trump?
Don't worry, I don't think the majority on here will vote for Hillary Clinton.
They won't be voting for Donald Trump either.
Because we are not American.

obieone I heard that they were using a body double for Hillary, particularly the one after her collapse when she appeared again outside her daughter's flat all bright and breezy.
Someone has noticed a few physical differences between the two, and the apparent 'double' always wears sunglasses.
