Well that was interesting. I should say Panarama was also enlightening but not as forceful and uncompromisingly direct in it's reporting content as Dispatches.

I'm not going to simply post on the Lib Dem Thread which has turned into a Labour Thread as I think this programme summed up exactly what I have thought and have been posting since the formation of Momentum , it is a ' Party within a Party.'

I will say now to those who will see it as propaganda and take umbrage at my post you cannot argue with what you see and hear from the horses mouth, no matter how hard you might try and no doubt will.

The fact Momentum are doing all they can to play down the Momentum name in connection to the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign , the use of the Unite Union office are significant, the way the reporter was paid is serious stuff and I hope there is further investigation into that. Will anybody take it up I wonder?.

Has anybody 'Cicked' on the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign or answered questions on the phone in connection with it. The reason I ask is if you have you are, as I understood it, on the data base on the Jeremy For Labour Services?. Listen to what is said about it , you may not be too happy, or maybe you will of course.

There is to be fair a Momentum explanation and statement at the end of the programme but it is worth viewing to make your own mind up if you didn't catch it.

Pity posters here didn't understand it whitewave ,

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:58:32

But my point is annie is that can't run a country on lies. The business community would be very unhappy for a start. McDonnell clearly understands that.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 11:50:14

whitewave, people will believe what they want to believe, how can you expect to get through to people who believed the lies of Boris?

You cannot change the views of people in areas of the north who feel swamped by immigrants ,

The problem with trying to discuss anything on this forum is if one tries to put forward the views of the very people who we needs to vote labour

When the living wage was discussed a few days ago I put forward what several small business people had said to me, immediately I came under fire and was accused of being a Tory.

In my opinion to have a discussion the views of everyone should be listened to , understood and discussed . I am 100% for the living wage but I understand the worries of small businesses

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:40:26

grin I know!!!!

Well they have been fed lies so why should the truth be more difficult?

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:33:11

How do you get the public to take notice of objective facts?

PS. You'd better think of a synonym for 're-education' or you'll get jumped on again grin.

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:31:03

What so many people complained about during the Brexit referendum was that truth was the first casualty.

The truth about immigration was one of the first. All I am saying is that objective facts should be made widely available.

Of course what the working class have experience over the past 6 years is almost entirely due to the rubbish that was Osbornomics. They have been fed the lie that there was no alternative and it was a price they had to pay for the crises caused by the wealthy bankers.

They looked at how their local surgery and school were under pressure from increased need. They were then fed the lie that it had nothing to do with Osbornes agenda of smaller state and Less available welfare ( we are still suffering from it e.g. NHS), but it was all due to the pressure from immigration. Never mind that their tax and vat contributions would have more than paid their way.

That's what I mean by reeducation -I am talking about objective facts.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 11:27:12

I was referring to McDonald saying we do not have to whisper socialism anymore ,i never have

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:21:53

There was nothing Communist in McDonnell's speech, nor in anything I heard from Debbie Abrahams, Rebecca Long-Bailey or any of the other speeches I watched.

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:19:06

Re-learning was also top of the agenda in post-war Germany. Should it not have been?

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:18:36

Well if you believe that annie you also will have to include the probable next USA president. Her economic arguments could have been made by McDonnell and vis versa.

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:18:26

The public has been 're-educated' since 1979. Nothing to do with North Korea!

Given the number of people who claim not to be interested in politics or economics, but have a vote, it's about time they knew some facts.

Beammeupscottie Wed 28-Sept-16 11:17:02

Re-learning was a thing of Mao Zedong's regime, was it not?
Remember old McDonnell waving a little red book - as a joke! Not true and not funny.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 11:01:14

Tony Blair brought in the minimum wage, sure start, working tax credits, paternity leave, the equality and human rights commission , civil partnerships, banned fur farming , cosmetic testing on animals and fox hunting, raised the number of youngsters gaining a university education, raised the number of nurses, gave workers the right to 24 day holidays a year, free breast screening for women 50 - 70 years of age, free entry to museums , free nusery places for 3 and 4 year olds , and many more achievements .

Obviously Corbynites didn't listen to Tom Watsons speech yesterday

I am proud I voted for all the above, i am proud to be a member of the Labour Party and unlike Mcdonald I have never had to whisper socialism . Sadly he is not aware of the difference between socialism and militancy / communism

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 10:49:37

Re-educate -I thought as soon as I posted it "open goal there"

However, now that you have got that out of your system, do you agree that immigration has made a positive contribution to the UK?

Ana Wed 28-Sept-16 10:48:07

Corbyn just hasn't got the hang of disguising his true feelings yet - he seems to love a good glower!

trisher Wed 28-Sept-16 10:39:45

The newspapers don't like Corbyn why should they print anything positive? If you can tell what people believe from their faces you are very clever. Tony Blair always smiled sweetly who knew that he was a warmonger?

Beammeupscottie Wed 28-Sept-16 10:25:45

The newspapers' are saying Corbyn snubbed Watson after his speech. I did notice Corbyn had that mulish look again; he really believes stubbornness is strength! Silly old fool!

trisher Wed 28-Sept-16 10:24:10

So 60% of the Labour party are members of momentum Annie- if they are responsible for his election. When will you accept that there was no credible alternative candidate and go with the majority vote? If you say 'never' then I suggest despite your record you would be better not campaigning for the party just now. You have grievances and complaints which you need to sort out.
As the views of many people on immigration are probably drawn from the TV programmes condemning them it might be a good idea to have some balanced reporting and some information about immigrants in our health and welfare services. Call it re-education if you wish.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 10:06:20

We have means of re educating you !

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 10:04:51

Roses, don't bring logic to the table , we have to be positive ,praise everything Corbyn says, seems I am swaying the entire voting population to vote Tory .

Thank God for Tom Watson , a deputy leader who cares for the party not his own ego, unlike the leader elected by momentum

nigglynellie Wed 28-Sept-16 10:02:37

Re educate? How exactly is this to be achieved? Overtones of North Korea methinks!!

rosesarered Wed 28-Sept-16 09:57:52

as regards immigration, being free of the EU would mean that we can have as much or as little as we need, so why should any foreign builders etc not be available if we want them?

rosesarered Wed 28-Sept-16 09:54:56

That 're-educate the voting public 'sentence......... sounds very chilling , rather like something you would find in the book 1984 ( maybe Orwell got the date a bit on the early side.)

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 09:45:37

Re educate the voting public, oh deary me

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 09:44:12

Really? I have only been in the building industry for about forty years, what would I know about the construction industry, employees rights , health and safety , minimum wage, rogue builders, rogue employers , employment of workers from Europe etc.

I must admit to envy for the firms where Eleothan lives, all those extensions built by immigrant workers springing up , all those 'men in the street' affording all those extensions , England must be so wealthy.

Anyway enjoy your admiration for Corbyn posts but I would ask, please don't canvass for the lsbour party, some responses would cause you such distress
