Well that was interesting. I should say Panarama was also enlightening but not as forceful and uncompromisingly direct in it's reporting content as Dispatches.

I'm not going to simply post on the Lib Dem Thread which has turned into a Labour Thread as I think this programme summed up exactly what I have thought and have been posting since the formation of Momentum , it is a ' Party within a Party.'

I will say now to those who will see it as propaganda and take umbrage at my post you cannot argue with what you see and hear from the horses mouth, no matter how hard you might try and no doubt will.

The fact Momentum are doing all they can to play down the Momentum name in connection to the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign , the use of the Unite Union office are significant, the way the reporter was paid is serious stuff and I hope there is further investigation into that. Will anybody take it up I wonder?.

Has anybody 'Cicked' on the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign or answered questions on the phone in connection with it. The reason I ask is if you have you are, as I understood it, on the data base on the Jeremy For Labour Services?. Listen to what is said about it , you may not be too happy, or maybe you will of course.

There is to be fair a Momentum explanation and statement at the end of the programme but it is worth viewing to make your own mind up if you didn't catch it.

Caused by government cuts but it's still the council, a Labour council, that is sacking its workers and only reemploying those who will agree to the new conditions.
Remind you of anyone?

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 20:05:22

I sgree, 12 hour shifts are wrong, more so in the fire service , i msy have this wrong, is it the decision of the council I think a councillor claimed it was caused by the cut backs by the government

nightowl Sun 25-Sept-16 19:45:46

Having worked 12 hour shifts, day and night, for 12 years I would say they are unsafe and should be phased out rather than introduced. And if posts are being slashed it suggests cover is being reduced, which is even more dangerous.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 19:40:57

I will reply this once to you durhamjen even thought I hsve respected your wishes and not replied to your post. You can call me right wing Labour if you choose , truth has nothing to do with it though . Satisfied your goading has finally earned you a response? How sad , So very McDonald though, you have certainly learned from a master of ?

rosesarered Sun 25-Sept-16 19:23:11

And nurses.

rosesarered Sun 25-Sept-16 19:22:39

The police have been doing 12 hour shifts for quite a long time.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 19:18:59

I thought you didn't agree with groups within groups, Annie.
We can now truly call you right wing labour rather than socialist.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 19:17:21

www.change.org/p/greater-manchester-fire-rescue-service-stand-with-manchester-firefighters-no-to-mass-dismissals

All Labour Party members should want to sign this.

Manchester are going to sack all their firefighters and only take back those who will sign up to twelve hour shifts.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 19:14:39

After seeing the Labour first meeting on the news I have decided to give them my support.

Derek Hatton is at the party conference, no surprise there

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 19:12:07

Richard Murphy talking at the Labour Party conference tomorrow on the Fair Tax mark.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 18:54:35

Wasn't mocking Kinnock at all, any more than you were mocking Foot for losing an election.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 18:46:47

That's ok ehite wave, it just makes me so cross when good labour MP's are mocked . I recall some time ago a different poster defending the militants in Liverpool accused Glenys Kinnock and those with her of behaving like Winnie Mandela, I was there and it was so untrue. Joe Cox chose to work for Glenys , would she hove done if Glenys had been anything else but a decent woman . Anyway it's the past .

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 18:34:04

Oh I didn't understand that sorry.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 18:30:33

My post was in defence of a good Labour MP and personal friend who fought a very long battle for the Lsbour party but was mocked on this thread, anyone who was Labour activist in that period would have known the facts

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 18:17:46

No t sure what we've heard today is really hard left though. So far I think most can be accepted by all wings?

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 18:02:07

Yes Kinnock lost the next two elections, it took the country a long time to trust after the far left disaster of 1983 , the country will never vote for a far left government. He did increase the number of Labour seats though and that was tough. He did it without protection of cults. He got out there and took on Murdoch - who hated him - and the English press who were so against a Welsh PM, he was also dealing with Thatcher and the militant wing of the party George Galloway hated him too

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 17:35:14

Momentum had a party last night, and collected £2500 to give to a refugee charity.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 17:21:51

They are whitewave, the majority are on the minimum wage

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 17:20:22

Voted in favour of the housing and transport policies.

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 17:17:46

whitewave, didnt recognise it as the hand of friendship.

Bit of a sore point really. In real life, dealing with an issue, where really the group of people mean, I want things all my own way.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 17:12:32

Wages are always low in rural communities. I am familiar with that -Cornwall.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 17:06:40

Wales has lower unemployment and lowest wages . So many think Wales is the South Wales valleys, no, much of Wales is rural

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 17:04:41

There a thread on here saying exactly the same thing. So that clearly chimes.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 16:58:27

Just hope the rest of the country takes notice.

Another good idea, Labour will suspend the right to buy council houses. We need more housing, not less. We need more to be built, not fewer houses available for those on the waiting lists.
Bring back the Green Investment Bank, to pay for those houses, get people into work.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 16:55:01

Yes I think that honestly has been the problem with the workers in this country, I think it is almost certain that the employers have used the EU immigrant to suppress the wage in certain areas.

One of the push factors when voting for Brexit.

Good about Wales as traditionally they always had high unemployment. Welsh Labour doing good.
