I am engaging in it as far as it impinges on British politics.
What I think about the US Green party has nothing to do with whether they have money or not to spend on the election.
The obscene amounts that Trump and Clinton have to spend is more my concern.
Does it not bother you that the most important job in the world can be bought?

Well if you bring them up but can't be bothered to engage in discussing them then why do you think the media are going to find them interesting enough to keep reporting about them.

They have been mentioned but they are simply not in the running so their coverage is obviously not going to receive the same coverage .

Not sure what your point was in mentioning them, I genuinely thought they were of interest to you. I suppose they are just that, not of interest.

Whitewave, Rees-Mogg has always backed the loser so far. Hope he doesn't say anything in support of Clinton.

what do you think of Gary Johnson , seeing as you raised the fact he was not receiving attention.

As for Jill Stein, The Greens if she/the party were of interest she would not be trailing with 2% or less in the polls. If she, the party were of interest then the backers would come forward.

See IDS, Rees-Mogg, and Fabricant are looking a tad embarrassed over their support for Trump. Gear into reverse and zoom off they go!!

The Donald Trump groping tape did have one immediate effect in the UK. It caused MPs Iain Duncan Smith, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Michael Fabricant to start backtracking on their support for the Republican presidential hopeful. One might ask what it was about Trump’s racism, tax avoidance and proven mendacity the three Tory MPs had previously found so irresistible, but better that one sinner repenteth etc ... Trump might secretly be relieved that Rees-Mogg has dropped out; in the Conservative leadership election, the Somerset MP managed to back the loser time after time. First he backed Boris Johnson. When he dropped out, he switched to Michael Gove. When the Tories decided Gove’s future lay in writing newspaper columns, Rees-Mogg bet the house on the completely useless Andrea Leadsom. Mind you, Trump seems more than capable of losing the election on his own. He recently told a rally in Florida to make sure they voted for him on 28 November. The election is on 8 November.

Maybe the reason the Green party candidate does not get mentioned is that she does not have the financial backing.
Trump hasn't needed any. That shouldn't be able to happen.

I think he is a truly horrible man and there has been enough evidence before these current scandals to show him to be unfit to be the President - not that I think Clinton is much better.

I do, though, wonder why all these women did not report his actions at the time they occurred. Surely it would have been better to do so then and hopefully make him think twice before being a nuisance to other women - or do you think they were just too scared to report it because he is such a rich and powerful man?

whitewave, it isn't cut and dried at all. Hilary isn't the most popular democratic candidate ever to have a go at the presidency and Trump still has a lot of support. His support seems to be similar (no offence meant to brexit voters) to the large vote to Leave seen in the less privileged areas of the UK.
She has to be a much safer bet than Trump though - the man is not fit to be president on any form of judgement. Hilary is experienced, tough and a more stable personality than Trump. The Americans I know all have their fingers crossed for a Hilary win and plan to leave the country if it's her opponent.

Hallowe'en is just round the corner

Clinton has been told she has to answer to a judge over her emails. So it isn't yet cut and dried.

Couldn't name one world leader, never even came up with Obama.

Look him up on you tube, a brilliant one with a female interviewer in a park and he starts literally talking jibberish. , the bloke is AN IDIOT, a Brain Fart as some call him.

As for the Green candidate Jill Stein she usually polls around the 2% mark so hardly in the running.

Now you might say that is because they don't get a look in but I say it's because they are not what the people want.

At the end of Newsnight last night they superimposed a David Attenborough commentary on a silverback gorilla's stalking behaviour onto the footage of Trump "stalking" Hillary Clinton during the debate.

Absolutely - not Obama and not any decent, self respecting man either, young or old. I hear that Trump is denying today's allegations, he would wouldn't he. Also that two of the women making allegations "admit" giving money to the Clinton campaign, again, they would, wouldn't they. Being a supporter of the democrats, or alternatively using any spare cash and votes in an attempt to keep this man out of the White House makes total sense.

Yesterday we watched a programme about first ladies in the White House and my grandson asked that.
I told him to ask his mum and dad, and this morning he told me his mum had suggested first gentleman. I'll have to tell them tomorrow when I see them.

No, you're right jen, our tv coverage is on the main two candidates and then only very brief snippets. It seems easier then to see Trump as less horrific than he is imo. There is a face book page called Bill for first Gentleman (or Bill Clinton for first gentleman) so maybe that's what he'd be called.
I haven't looked at the Re Box podcast yet bags but I will. I didn't see all the 2nd debate, just the highlights shown here. One of the things that struck me was that Hilary seemed more tense than in the first debate and that Trump seemed to be letting his inner bully out to a greater extent. All that following H round the podium, standing behind her making the most of his huge male presence. A truly dreadful man. I thought H was spot on when she said you wouldn't want someone with his temperament with his finger on the nuclear button.

Wilma the part in the film about Hilary Clinton visiting Hiati in 2010 was correct, I remember thinking at the time how awful all planes coming in with relief for the people were stopped that day. This article from the NY Times is interesting it is about the Clinton Foundation but doesn't go into how much of the money raised since it was started in 1997 but estimated to be roughly around $US2 billion. There does appear to be a conflict of interest.

if I had to vote in the US elections or be tortured I would vote for Clinton. Trump is a loose canon, you couldn't trust him, he has no barriers.
