As I made a mistake and posted in 'Brexit, power to the people' - here is Brexit4.

I know some of you don't like 'experts' or their opinions, but I do urge all to listen to this man again, from Liverpool University, calmly and expertly explaining what the single market is, and how it does work

The question was simple enough - how was it pathetic:

'DC did not get a decent deal at all. It was pathetic.'

and nearly 2 hours of deflecting and detracting later, and no reply- you calli it the Spanish inquisition !?!

Thatbags was indeed so so right, the level of debate is worse than low.

Roses, I do not want an answer I 'like' but Ana's honest and factual answer - I do believe that is fair- and polite too.
If you make a statement, you should be prepared to back it up- or it is just nonsense.

durhamjen Tue 18-Oct-16 22:30:31

And neither of you have answered, so why bother making statements that you cannot support?
Who's the childish one here?

rosesarered Tue 18-Oct-16 22:27:13

moon

rosesarered Tue 18-Oct-16 22:26:49

Answer your own question granjura then you're sure to get an answer that you like.

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 22:21:34

Oh, do give it a rest, it's like the Spanish Inquisition! Think I'll adopt a well-used strategy and 'leave you to it'. Truly.

granjura Tue 18-Oct-16 22:12:43

I did Ana- and it is mentionned in my last post about it being sharp but fair- as you didn't reply to her previous direct but certainly not impolite question.

And you still have not answered to be fair, have you. You deflect and detract- but refuse to answer- just like politicians do, hence my very last question.

Now I could answer it for you, if you wish. But then you'd take offense to that too. So why not give a reply, as Tegan says. Simple, truly.

rosesarered Tue 18-Oct-16 22:03:59

Oh, it will be those pesky Tories I expect.

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 22:01:23

Did you not read durhamjen's post of 21.20. granjura?

Tegan, which politicians 'created brexit for their own benefit'?

Tegan Tue 18-Oct-16 21:55:18

If you feel passionate enough about your 'cause' you will answer the question to educate us. Why does it not bother you that politicians created brexit for their own benefit and not for the benefit of the country? Even Arnie in America has asked Republicans to think of their country, not their party and not vote for Trump.

granjura Tue 18-Oct-16 21:52:04

'How was it pathetic?'

how was this question rude? It was simple and direct, granted- but rude? You chose to ignore it, so the request for it to be answered was perhaps a bit sharp-but fair in the circumstances.

So I'll repeat, and wrap it up in a bit of fluff 'please Ana, would you be kind enough to tell us exactly how the deal Cameron got was pathetic- and what else he should have been able to negotiate in your view'? and 'thank you, ta'

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 21:38:22

And as rosesarered says, why should I answer a question asked in such a rude and abrupt way?

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 21:35:35

Yes, you've outed me, granjura, I am indeed a dodgy politician...hmm

(heavy sarcasm, in case anyone doubts it)

granjura Tue 18-Oct-16 21:32:12

1000s upon 1000s believed the outright lie about the 350m to the NHS. If they had been advertisers, they would have been acting illegally for false advertisement and could have been sued. VERY, totally diffferent to an interpretation of consequences.

In any debate, it is fair to ask people to answer questions raised, rather than ignore and detract from. Unless - you are a dodgy politician. Are you a politician Ana?

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 21:29:40

x posts roses.

Just of the same opinion, durj

rosesarered Tue 18-Oct-16 21:29:00

If posters can't phrase things properly and politely then they shouldn't ask questions.

rosesarered Tue 18-Oct-16 21:27:40

Whereas you are a definite 'one off' that's for sure.

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 21:27:39

Er...pardon durhamjen? I'm not jumping to your command!

durhamjen Tue 18-Oct-16 21:26:35

Interchangeable, aren't you?

rosesarered Tue 18-Oct-16 21:25:48

'Answer the question Ana ...!! Just where do you think we are djen a police station, a court of law? Up to Ana of course, but I would ignore demands put so rudely.

durhamjen Tue 18-Oct-16 21:20:21

Answer the question, Ana. Or can't you?
Perhaps DC's deal was okay in the light of what followed.

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 21:16:32

Does anyone really care whether Boris was intent on furthering his career, apart from ardent Remainers?

What he wrote at least showed he'd actually given the matter some proper thought, unlike, it seems, some of his colleagues.

durhamjen Tue 18-Oct-16 21:13:40

How was it pathetic?

Ana Tue 18-Oct-16 21:12:23

DC did not get a decent deal at all. It was pathetic.

Tegan Tue 18-Oct-16 21:10:17

'Project doom' was a soundbite created by B Johnson round about the time when he was deciding which side to take with a view to furthering his own political career...

nigglynellie Tue 18-Oct-16 21:05:03

Project Doom was specifically to frighten people into voting remain, an act of desperation. Nobody with a grain of sense believed the money supposedly ear marked for the NHS! Let's face it it was worries about immigration for lots of people that instigated leave. Not for me however, I have other concerns that just persuaded me to vote the way I did.
