You really are missing the point, roses. It is possible to comment on a situation intelligently without 'taking sides', which is why different perspectives are interesting.

It doesn't matter what French/German newspapers are saying about Brexit, their own people would maybe like to be offered a referendum as well, ( no chance!)

Yes I did but with all due respect not about the feelings of the UK/Brexit situation, I think I am well aware of your view on that.

I was specifically enquiring what the feelings were of the Swiss people with regard to the problems caused by the Swiss Referendum and the European Union. e.g is it dead in the water or ongoing, what is the mood of 'the swiss' people, will Switzerland dare to go against the EU or the Swiss peoples referendum vote.

Brexit and The Swiss Referendum outcomes are a 'tad' similar. Although Switzerland is not a member of the EU it has to abide by the Free Movement of People in it's agreement for trade with the EU. The outcome of the Swiss Referendum vote means like the UK the Swiss Government will either have to abide by the peoples referendum or submit to the EU, either way like the UK there will be a problem because of the insistence of Free Movement of People by the European Union.

It's a case of trade takes a back seat to the enshrinement of the EU mantra for the free Movement of People . A point I keep repeating I find not only pathetic but causing a problem for many countries in the EU to continue to have the will to go along with.

What is so tragic, is that the UK is now totally divided - and so is the Labour and the Tory party. The Libs dems with Clegg and Farron seem to be the only ones with a cool head at the moment. The UK is just as divided as GN and worse, to the point where no intelligent, educated or informed debate, has become impossible. Tragic and sad- and really destructive.

I won't reply for a while- there is just not point. Un dialogue de sourds - we call it in French.

Pogs did ask me what was the feelings here now. It is an inescapable fact that if you read French, German, Italian, etc, newspapers - you'll get a very different picture and take.

I know this will make some of you boil- but it is true, so here it is. The UK is currently the laughing stock all over Europe ... not the referendum as such- but the fact the Government has absolutety not a clue on hos to proceed, are totally divided and back stabbing each other - whislt the pound, our services and industries are going down the chute fast. Sad, tragic - true. But you are of course totally free to ignore this and just say 'so what? Independence lalala'.

I think you'll find that many of the major non-UK European newspapers have English language versions. It's interesting to read other people's views, especially those writing from a different perspective.
