I think most people thought the referendum vote would be acted upon.

Should have checked with the House of Commons Library beforehand, obviously...

Would not have been any point having a referendum if it was never going to be implemented.Parliament will not go against the majority vote of the people.

If that was the case it should have been stated before the vote took place!

I understand that the referendum was advisory, but it was always going to be implemented.

I have been out all day and was catching up and up thread pogs you ask the question as to whether the result of the vote was binding and the answer would appear to be 'no'.

I assumed the post from Margaret was yet another attack on a poster for daring to vote to leave.

Of course Margaret every post you put on the forum tells us how wonderful Germany is, and how the UK does things all wrong.
We will get out of the EU, and govern ourselves , and you know what? Money isn't everything, going to hell in a handcart with the EU as it gets ever bigger and more cumbersome is now not something we will have to put up with.Nor is the massive corruption and equally massive bureaocracy.
Who said it would be easy? But it is doable, and we will be doing it.

I love England too, and wish it had never happened. I see my grandchildren's future well being in Germany, in the EU as being a much better option.
