I've just discovered Dan Jarvis MP.

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 20:27:23

Grumppa, I agree , never known Corbyn to be interrupted in one if his compelling ! Speeches before

nightowl Sun 11-Dec-16 20:25:42

I think Tatchell brought that one on himself though Annie. It seems to me his own words on the subject are indefensible.

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 20:23:51

Ooooops, yes any post where someone uses pedophilia as an attack does make the thread sickening

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 20:20:16

Problem is nightowl, there are a few who claim to be pacifists yet defend Corbyn for not criticising Russia and for supporting the IRA , glass houses comes to mind

nightowl Sun 11-Dec-16 19:59:36

Yet you support MPs who voted for air strikes in Syria Annie. How can you describe others as 'pick and choose' pacifists. This thread is sickening.

grumppa Sun 11-Dec-16 19:56:26

One can only applaud anyone who finds a way through JC's minders and succeeds in interrupting him at all when he's preaching to his converted.

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 19:44:10

Surely a pacifist taking the opportunity to speak out against what is happening in Syria is something all pacifists would applaud not condemn , in fairness I do mean dedicated pacifists not pick and choose pacifists

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 19:41:03

Jen, surely shame lies not with the person who makes a spelling error but with the person ill mannered enough to point the error out.

Yes I like Thachell, unlike Corbyn I cannot claim a very long friendship with him .

Ana Sun 11-Dec-16 19:36:48

No.

durhamjen Sun 11-Dec-16 19:27:18

So Tatchell interrupting Corbyn is not relevant, either. Perhaps you ought to tell us what is allowed.

Wasn't Tatchell interrupting Corbyn's speech on violence to women playing the man, not the ball?

grumppa Sun 11-Dec-16 19:23:44

Surely the reason JC won't discuss the Russian bombing of Syria is that he is an unreconstructed fellow-traveller who cannot accept that Russia is no longer the Soviet Union, no longer communist, and certainly no longer socialist, and may therefore have become a justifiable target for criticism from the Left.

Ana Sun 11-Dec-16 19:12:11

This thread is supposed to be about the Labour Party, not what Tatchell thinks about other things, paedophilia included.

Classic example of playing the man, not the ball.

durhamjen Sun 11-Dec-16 19:09:58

You've said you like Tatchell, Annie.

durhamjen Sun 11-Dec-16 19:08:03

Shame you can't spell his name properly.
Are you suggesting that Corbyn is a paedophile there Annie? You really need to be careful what you are insinuating.
If not that, what do you mean?

That letter in the article was written by Tatchell, not by somebody attacking him. His own words implying we need to reassess our definition of paedophilia. Do you agree with him about that?

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 19:03:21

I do agree that there is sod all Corbyn can do

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 19:01:27

I like Thachell.

Three things about the link attacking Thachell

1.it speaks of Corbyn handling it with grace and class - Corbyn , grace and class?

2. If Thachell supports peodophiles it says much sbout the company Corbyn keeps does it not?

3. It speaks of Corbyns often compelling words . Perhaps "your hassling me " is compelling, I thought it pathetic.

durhamjen Sun 11-Dec-16 18:56:47

If you, and Tatchell, attacked the government with as much venom as you attack Corbyn it would make much more sense.

durhamjen Sun 11-Dec-16 18:55:13

www.independent.co.uk/voices/peter-tatchell-interrupts-jeremy-corbyn-speech-embarrassing-protest-pointless-fuels-ukip-a7468186.html

I agree with this man. Tatchell chose the wrong place and the wrong people to protest against.
Corbyn was giving a speech about domestic violence against women on Human Rights Day. Why interrupt that? Why carry a banner saying actions not words when the person who can act is Theresa May. Corbyn is leader of the opposition, not government.

Ana Sun 11-Dec-16 18:34:53

Has anyone on here said they 'like' Tatchell?

Not surprised you've managed to find some damning link about him though, durhamjen - serves him right for daring to challenge Corbyn.

You like Tatchell, do you? I am surprised.

Anniebach Sun 11-Dec-16 17:49:48

Very bad, very hypocritical Beam

Beammeupscottie Sun 11-Dec-16 17:40:43

She also said Labour needed a year to turn itself around!
I thought she had a defeatist air about her - but you could say that about all Labour politicians at the moment. No one is fighting with any conviction.
I agree with Tatchell that Corbyn will not openly criticise Russia's bombing of Syrians, which is very bad.

Jalima Sun 11-Dec-16 17:28:06

-7% is 'disappointing'?
Rather an understatement.

Diane Abbot said this morning the sleaford result was disappointing
