Hope for the Labour Party?

Annie, I fear you are wrong in believing that traditional Labour voters will not vote UKIP. In my area, so many will. Our excellent Labour MP said 4 years ago, he feared Ukip more than the tories and I believe he was right. Our town voted Brexit, we're a traditional working class, Labour area where it was always said "put a donkey up with a Labour rosette, it'll win". Not any more it won't.

I doubt it nightowl, I don't agree that the left is now being heard again, it has never been silent, the far left a different matter, I have always been to the left but cannot accept the far left , they have caused much damage over the years but always been able to grab control, now sadly they have and will speak from the oposition benches for a very long time.

Not really Annie, I hate the fact the party is tearing itself apart. But I am glad that things are being shaken up and the left is being heard again. I just hope there can be some kind of resolution in time for the next election.

This traditional voter will not turn to UKIP, I am concerned they are targeting South Wales and guilt riddled because I should be there canvassing should there be an election, I want to support the Welsh MP's but cannot lie about my views on Corbyn

If there is an election next year I don't know how to vote , have thought of the choices but would be a hypocrite if I voted for one of them and the thought of not voting upsets me

With Labour Party into its current free fall destructive mode, I reckon there must be quite a lot of people who feel politically homeless.

I seem to remember seeing a piece on tv about a privately funded scheme in Bradford where they were running a cookery school to train for the Asian catering market, perhaps the government should be investing in more schemes like this. Being a chef is a perfectly acceptable profession. The wages in catering should be higher and there wouldn't be a problem. Maybe there is an Indian Jamie Oliver out there.

Suzied re training our own curry chefs. Nearly all the sons and daughters of the staff at our local curry house have ambitions, or are already studying to be, doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc.. They do not want to work the long hours that their fathers (usually) have put in to get their children an education.

As for training up non-Asian unemployed to take over the role, they simply don't want the work. Same with farm work.

I would love to know if they took Daphne advice, drop the victim card and get out of manual labour, eho would build houses, mend roads, clean hospitals, clear drains, work on farms, all those poor victim card players

Is that not one of the problems we have now, that physical work is seen as demeaning, so nobody wants to do it? If everybody escaped, what would happen then? Brexit means we can't have Polish doctors cleaning or cooking for us.

Founded in 1996, Annie. It matters to Labour party members, daphne. The reason Corbyn is leader is because they did not want someone who supported Blair, which all the others did.
Rachel Reeves has said that Labour is not the party for those out of work, handing over a lot of votes to UKIP.
