Sums it up thatbags. I spent 2 decades as a RAF wife and the cut backs were awful but worse still was the local procurement, young ill trained officers being allowed to enter contracts or buy supplies, one young silly female officer was sent to buy camping beds for the sqn when GW2 kicked off, she went off to argos and instead of buying flat camping beds she had been told to buy she bought cheap garden hammock style beds as " they came in bright colours and looked funky" i kid yo not.Another problem was wivws of the very top brass being allowed to totally redecorate hosese that they were only going to live in for 2 years and spending up to £35,000 on new carpets and curtains.
I hope that as we leave Europe that some sense is seen and defense spending rises dramatically, if that means a few £m off the F/A budget for the next 5 years then so be it.
