I'm at a loss to know how tolerating multi-culturalism in the UK fosters extremism in Nigeria.

It's beyond appalling, beyond heartbreak, beyond being sentient humans. 'They' do not think in terms of human life just cold 'collateral damage' like some obscene video game. I agree with all the above posters esp. radicalnan and barbaralynn regarding these perpetrators actually being mentally ill.

Unfortunately, in the name of multiculturalism and fostering the mistaken idea that all cultures are equal we have allowed religions based on misogyny to flourish in our midst. Anyone who pointed out in reasonable tones and with valid arguments that this was eroding the rights of women was called a racist.

Yes I too agree with everything said here. I can't begin to imagine how anyone could do this. But isn't that it - we are all "normal" people. These perpetrators are not. They are all brainwashed until they are mad/mentally ill/unhinged; otherwise they couldn't do what they do. That is the only way I can begin to understand it.

Fanatics believe they are acting for the good of all. Their mindset it totally removed from our own, we will never understand it.

I wonder if there will come a time when they reflect and are horrified, or will they be able to come to some sort of accommodation with themselves as the Germans have, over the horrors of the Third Reich?

I read a book called 'Wilful Blindness' all about how cultures can make themselves oblivious to some horrific things, just as individuals can.

For cultures where life is brutal, I imagine that finer feelings are a luxury few can afford.

These monsters seem quick to send other peoples' children on "missions". If they think dying for their cause is justifiable, why don't they kill themselves - too cowardly of course. I weep for these poor children

I can't imagine that they would 'persuade' these poor little girls to do it. What scum these people are. In fact scum is too good a word for them.

It's horrible beyond imagining. I can't get my head around how you would persuade a seven year old to actually willingly detonate a suicide vest - unless they do it remotely, without the child knowing what they are carrying and why, which would make it even more horrible.

Girls don`t seem to have any value in these `cultures` . I agree with you , blow themselves up if they must , preferably alone in the middle of a field !
