I'm afraid that the only 'power' the working class have is to withdraw their labour. The British have, on the whole, not done this for many years and even the 'working class' disapprove of those who do.
Americans are even less likely to do this as they are even further to the right than the British and seem to see unionised labour as the spawn of Satan.(Our US friends might put me right here; happy to be corrected if need be; this is just my impression)
The other alternative is Revolution. Funnily enough, revolutions are usually led by the middle classes and generally end in some sort of bloodbath before a ruling Elite emerges. The working class usually end up very little better off than before the revolution; they just have different masters..
Classic theories of Power culminate in the 'winners' keeping control by the use, or threat, of force. Not a pretty prospect.
