First blood to Trump

Trump will be inaugurated in 16 days time. Ford has recognised this new era.

How will his Junta of advisors deal with the political world?

Will Trump continue to govern by twitter?

Will his erratic behaviour stop?

Will he be less muddled in his thinking?

What will happen to NATO and article 5?

Will the world survive his environmental policy - such that it is?

Will America be able to contain him?

"It's going to be a beautiful thing"

Of course it is, he's going to be the best job producer God ever created.

Bleagh!

As far as I can make out there's a lot of Country and Western third rate performers.

Does anybody know if any musicians have agreed to play at Trump's inauguration? Apparently the Bruce Springsteen tribute band has pulled out.

Love the way Gove was trawling the studios yesterday, boasting about his "underachievement" as it was described in a lovely sketch by John Grace.

"Most people might think that, after conducting an interview with Trump, that read like a celebrity piece for an airlines inflight magazine then went on and posed for a cheesy sleazy photo under a playboy magazine that Gove might have wanted to lie low for a bit to recover from the embarrassment. But no Gove's narcissism carried him along from studio to studio sounding less modest with each subsequent interview."

Later in the morning he tottered up on the Daily Politics where Jo Corburn gave him the biggest put down " you had the president elect for an hour and you didn't challenge him once on any inconsistencies" she observed.

Mikel beamed ...... someone who got it.......it wasn't and never had been about Trump it had been about him the Great Mikey who by getting an hour with the Trump allowed Mikey to bask in the orange glow -so we got mini-me and the great Don.
All power to Mini-mini-Mikey

Worth signing, whatever your opinion on Trump. To remove the US nuclear weapons from launch on warning status. Obama can do it before he leaves.

I can't really see America going soft on NATO. That women was a bundle of fun.

rosesarered Mon 16-Jan-17 21:23:03

POGS see the quiz bags has put on a new thread.......hilarious, you can hardly guess which quote is from Corbyn and which from Trump.grin

durhamjen Mon 16-Jan-17 21:22:34

Yes, so did I.
Will John Sweeney become the next Litvinenko? I hope he has good bodyguards.

That bridge is part of Shoreham by pass so we can see it by driving past. Not sure how they are going to put it up though

durhamjen Mon 16-Jan-17 16:20:23

I hope they put the Humber Bridge one on the news. That would be good to see.

durhamjen Mon 16-Jan-17 16:18:59

Martin Luther King Day today.

"Let us build bridges rather than barriers, openness rather than walls. Rather than borders, let us look at distant horizons together in a spirit of acceptance, helpfulness, cooperation, peace, kindness and especially love." - Martin Luther King

Hope not Hate.

durhamjen Mon 16-Jan-17 16:12:36

Are you going, then, whitewave?
Nearest to me is York. Or Rothbury. Half way in between, but York would be easier to get to. I think my son might object if I took my grandson down there, though.

This is who is taking part in Bridges Not Walls.

whitewave Mon 16-Jan-17 16:05:38

Cor! there's one near me.

Bridges not walls. Togetherness not division. Love not hate. (That's my bit)

durhamjen Mon 16-Jan-17 16:03:39

Good to know that Trump thinks the UK is 'doing great'.
I didn't hear Gove correcting his use of language.

Friday is going to be interesting. I wonder if any of this will get on the BBC.

Rinouchka, that was the link I put on last night. Good that others think it important enough.

whitewave Mon 16-Jan-17 15:40:42

Oh I don't mind the question. It is simply irrelevant. Corbyn has no influence, nor does Putin have any interest in him.

POGS Mon 16-Jan-17 15:37:42

Whitewave

Why am I stretching it?

You might not like the question but it is a perfectly relevant question to ask.

POGS Mon 16-Jan-17 15:35:10

So I should have said one is a failing politician the other is going to be President.

I can just imagine how that would have gone down had I said it.

It doesn't answer the question with all respect.

whitewave Mon 16-Jan-17 15:34:20

That's stretching things a tad pogs even for you

MaizieD Mon 16-Jan-17 15:30:14

The difference might well be thought to be that Corbyn is the leader of a struggling UK political party with minimal influence while Donald Trump is about to become the US President with a great deal of influence.

Even handedness can take you to strange places...
