Anniebach The Morning Star, the Socialist Worker and other left wing papers have always been sold outside key Labour meetings and conferences - it is not just something that has happened since Corbyn/Momentum came on the scene.

I knew it would be Nigel Havers who puts Corbyn into Room 101 - his father is Sir Michael Havers, former Conservative Lord Chancellor in the 80's. NH is a Conservative through and through and was no doubt delighted to have been allowed the opportunity to make such a political point on what is supposed to be a light entertainment programme.

I suspect one of the reasons Tristan Hunt is taking, what for hi must be a dream post, is that he realises there is no hope of a Labour government in the next ten years. He's very bright and would I'm sure have hoped for a minesterial post.

There cannot be a labour government with Corbyn as leader, this is the reason supporters are disagreeing . Some want to keep Corbyn as leader of the oposition, some want him out so labour can win an election.

To make out he can win over middle England when he is losing support in safe labour seats is a fantasy.

Copeland where many are employed in the nuclear industry are going to support a man who wants thrm to lose their jobs ?

Lsbour has not been this low in the polls since the thirties , the reason is Corbyn , he is ignoring the many supporters who want controlled immigration, they are going to vote for him?

Yes it is possible

It is also possible he has been searching for a position to make the move from being an MP due to the fact he has never been a fan of Corbyn. Hunt has never been shy about his view over Corbyn's leadership quality and connections to Momentum though has he.

Perhaps he has simply had enough .

Corbyn aside, is it not possible that Hunt has an eye to his future career when his seat will disappear under boundary changes, and he has been offered a great job with at least twice his present salary? Boundary changes will disadvantage the Labour Party even further and if supporters cannot stop squabbling amongst themselves and get their act together and remember that there is more that unites than divides, there will never again be a labour government.

At the party conference last year the communist party was selling it's newspaper at the Momentum conference judt down the road from the labour conference.

This is a fact, at the party conference the audience changed just before Corbyn made his speech

I have been keeping an eye on the current Labour/Momentum issue re membership Anniebach. I decided not to start a thread as it becomes a slanging match in defence of Corbyn usually and I thought twice.

Now you have mentioned it I will say those of us who have 'from day one' of the founding of Momentum been proven to be correct in finding some aspects of Momentum to be harking back to the days of Trotskyist / Labour. A fact so vociferously denied by many .

It will be interesting to see what, if any, the 'fallout' might be over the coming days won't it.

I will use the words of Owen Jones as some have shown to believe to be a respected Labour commentator as my words and thoughts will be seen as partisan.

I do think Labour will hold Stoke on Trent Central however.

He did lecture in history and has written several books , but I think he is leaving because the party is falling to bits. Momentum now wants to be affiliated to the Labour Party, unless Corbyn leaves there will no longer be a Labour Party .

It will be interesting to see and hear the political fallout by his resignation.

One side will say 'good riddence' 'couldn't hack the job'. The other side will say 'couldn't continue with the present climate within the Labour Party'.

Did you see the tweet from Paul Flyn MP on Daily Politics? Presumably he thought twice and has removed it now. I thought Labour were proud to be called Comrade's. His tweet will be mild compared to some no doubt.

I am not surprised he has been very vocal from day one about Corbyn , Momentum.

He alone will know if he left because of the way the Labour Party is going or a dream job came his way that he would be a fool not to have taken. Presumably unless he was ' head hunted ' he applied for the job happy to give up as an MP so it makes you wonder. I don't blame him for leaving politics .

It is another interesting by-election to watch.

I like him, admired his guts speaking the truth about the party leader. I think more will follow Hunt , no point in staying in a weak oposition party only to lose in four years time

I think he may do a better job there.
