Oh no! - he's back! I cannot bear his self-satisfied voice!

It does not matter what he says; he just gives me the creeps.

I doubt he gives a fig for what I think though grin

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 22:49:16

And I replied. They are not paying their taxes. They are taking their money offshore to avoid taxes. They are welcome to leave.

Anniebach Sun 19-Feb-17 22:44:23

I asked - if the tax dodgers left the country?

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 22:41:19

Very socialist of you there, Annie. Are you sure you're in the right party?

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 22:40:23

Does it matter if they are not paying their taxes?

Anniebach Sun 19-Feb-17 22:32:19

And if wealthy tax dodgers left the country?

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 22:28:43

Corbyn would make sure he got all the tax that is owed by wealthy tax dodgers. Tories encourage it.

Badenkate Sun 19-Feb-17 22:21:59

Isn't RT Underground funded by the Russian Government? Hardly somewhere to go for unbiased news reporting.

rosesarered Sun 19-Feb-17 22:18:51

djen Corbyn would only be able to carry out all his policies if he borrowed really massively....in fact the national debt we now owe would be as nothing to what he would need to borrow. We know what borrowing and spending on such a scale would lead to.
This will never happen though, because Labour under his leadership would lose the next GE, handing the Conservatives a landslide victory on a plate.

LuckyDucky Sun 19-Feb-17 22:15:37

How dare Tony Blair think he can over turn the referendum result angry Blair's arrogance is beyond belief.

As the ex chancellor has made over £65,000 from speeches I expect Tony must make similar money.

During the US election I heard H. Clinton, that snake-in-the-grass say loudly, "you're lucky to get in free. I usually charge $???,00. Can't now remember the astronomic sum.

Incidentally we watch RT Underground as they deliver news
not seen on BBC/Sky/CNN etc. Put 'fake news' into focus and explains plenty.

Ana Sun 19-Feb-17 22:07:18

So? Did I say Tory promises were any better?

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 22:04:13

Yeah, right, Ana.

www.indy100.com/article/national-debt-country-data-map-graphic-statistics-amount-7581486

Tory promises. A Tory MP put a graph on his twitter feed ten days ago, then had to delete it because it showed that the Tory government was/is rubbish with the national debt.

Ana Sun 19-Feb-17 21:33:43

So you've no idea how he'd fund his pie-in-the-sky policies either, durhamjen.

Yes, they can all make promises when they're not actually in power.

Anniebach Sun 19-Feb-17 21:26:31

His policies, one small problem, he needs to win a general election to act on them and he will never win a general election.

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 21:22:39

Well, Ana, that's why Jonathan Pie says everyone's a socialist.

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 21:21:53

Annie, you think he's still sitting on the floor of a train.

Anniebach Sun 19-Feb-17 21:14:36

Trisher, you have some God given right to tell the forum what they may say and not say about Corbyn?

Ana Sun 19-Feb-17 21:11:27

I'd welcome those policies, trisher - wouldn't everyone?

How does he propose to fund them all though?

Anniebach Sun 19-Feb-17 21:10:44

so I repeat of the betrayal this man carried out, I repeat his mistakes, this is wrong? but criticising Blair for Iraq is acceptable ?

explains much

POGS Sun 19-Feb-17 21:05:54

Could be because there are copious amounts of anti Tory/government/Tory politicians than there are of Corbyn/Labour/Labour politicians.

Believe me there is / has been plenty of 'ammunition' to create threads that I alone could start about Corbyn, Labour or Labour politicians but it seems posters of other political persuasions do not have the same appetite to raise threads as much as those posters who openly have stated they dislike/hate the Tories, those who have voted other than for left wing parties.

I don't think anybody can fail to see there is a cornucopia of threads on Gransnet that are instigated by left wing posters and those who have stated they are activists.

Perhaps it is the case the Politics threads would benefit from more balance but if threads are not started then that it because of apathy on the part of those deemed right wing, no activists I suppose to be assed.

trisher Sun 19-Feb-17 20:51:51

But largely it isn't POGS you can ask which policies of Corbyn's people don't like and what comes back is the same old complaints, what he did in the EU campaign, how he looks, accusations of being a trot same old same old.
Let's try it out
Corbyn believes the railways should be renationalised.
That the NHS should be given the money it needs
That we should build more social housing
That there should be living wage.
Now if we are discussing Corbyn let's have people's criticism of those.

POGS Sun 19-Feb-17 20:15:46

durhamjen

'If people set up a thread to criticise Theresa May or the Tory government, then obviously Theresa May will be criticised.
What's wrong with that? You don't have to read the threads if criticism of May hurts so much.

How weird a response. It could equally be said if a thread or indeed posts are to criticise Jeremy Corbyn , then obviously Jeremy Corbyn will be criticised.
What's wrong with that?

You don't have to read the threads, the posts, if criticism of Corbyn hurts you so much.

The problem with all of that is it is a tad silly because it is more adult to debate/discuss and criticism is fine as long as it is evidence based, factual information.

nancyma Sun 19-Feb-17 20:08:04

Given how enormous the brexit decision is I welcome any scrutiny of how this decision is implemented. The more scrutiny the better. I attended a ref meeting where Corbyn spoke and a great deal of time was spent in condemning the Trans Asian trade deal. I didn't notice any enthusiasm for staying in the EU. Perhaps I just didn't get the drift as I was thoroughly bored and drifting off, difficulty keeping my eyes open. I want the very best deal and I want the governments actions scrutinised effectively and I want a say in the eventual agreement. Sadly there's no opposition to do this and I would welcome Mickey Mouse if he could give me some decent information so that I can make an informed decision

Ana Sun 19-Feb-17 20:01:56

Oh dear, you can't resist can you? grin

I wasn't complaining about Tory/T May bashing, but your continual moaning about Corbyn-bashing's a bit rich!

durhamjen Sun 19-Feb-17 19:58:16

I thought you would, trisher.

Ana, if people set up a thread to criticise Theresa May or the Tory government, then obviously Theresa May will be criticised.
What's wrong with that? You don't have to read the threads if criticism of May hurts so much.

trisher Sun 19-Feb-17 19:55:48

Thanks for the Jonathan Pie link dj I love him.
