I was appalled last week when I found out that there are 1.3 million people with learning disabilities, of whom 1.2 million are unemployed.
Hopefully they will all be employable in a basic income future. I've never met one who didn't want to work.

Really? We already happily discuss the Gig economy and the Platform economy because they are here and both robotisation and AI are displacing jobs in both the unskilled and skilled areas. I would say it is happening already Ankers but do keep your eyes closed if you don't want to believe it.

There is much talk of the Basic Income and a fifteen hour working week has been mooted. Change is constant and a tide you cannot hold it back but you can make it work for the many rather than the few.

Rumours are that some Labour MPs don't think Gorton is safe. I expect it's nonsense, because Gorton is the 9th safest seat in the country, but there's certainly 'trouble at mill' (well, not at the mill, because there aren't many left).

PS. It's obvious many Labour MPs are working hard to talk to and listen to their constituents. They're keeping themselves away from the factional in-fighting and not jostling for leadership positions. I hope they hang on to their seats, because they deserve it, but the media (and public outside their constituency) isn't generally interested in workhorses.

Who says they do? I'm afraid it's your argument/question which isn't logical - not that logic has much to do with entrenched viewpoints.
