Did anybody feel sorry for her yesterday? Or embarrassed? Or, like me, annoyed that she was so ill prepared and frankly incompetent.
She "misspoke" apparently. hmm
She only had one job to do.
And before anybody says the poor dear had to give eleventy billion seven interviews -she is a professional politician it's what she does.
What compounded it was her tone of voice -like a primary teacher talking to a very stupid child, trying not to lose her patience but clearly just about to. Especially as she was talking such nonsense.
With talent such as Yvette Cooper, Chuka Umunna, Michael Dughan and others (even Ed Balls!) to call on why does the Labour campaign wheel on choose someone like Diane Abbott to score an own goal?

No, she had several goes at the answers each more ridiculous than the last, then denied saying one figure and accused her interviewer.
Poor show by any standards.

I have to say the woman does get on my nerves but let's face it she got ONE word wrong!! The previous day Theresa May said she was going to fight tourism (meant terrorism) and forgot which town she was in. Not too much on here or the BBC about that! I thought Jeremy Corbyn dealt with it very well and showed what a nice man he is. Some are very quick to mock

She has s a joke!

Caro1954 Thu 04-May-17 15:25:02

Well said, W11girl!

W11girl Thu 04-May-17 15:02:27

I agree with most of the posters here...the woman is totally incompetent. She strikes me as just wanting the "glamour" of being in the public eye. I have never once heard her say anything of any use. God help us if she ever became Home secretary!!

I am not a fan of Diane Abbott, but doesn't every politician, of all parties, get paid for appearing on TV discussion programmes? My criticism would be towards those who pay these fees, I am sure most politicians would appear for free if it gets their faces and policies in front of an audience.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:55:51

Don't watch her ninny, then the BBC won't want to pay her. It's a free market.

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:55:35

So good to see people are aware of her 'socialist' money making appearances.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:54:54

That's not what she said Ruth. Tut tut! Fake news on GN! Whatever next?!

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:54:31

Absolutely!

ninny Thu 04-May-17 13:53:38

She's received more than £110,000 of License payers fees for appearing on the BBC, that'll help pay her sons private school fees. She's the biggest hypocrite going.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:53:25

I know. I didn't mean you dj.

Lololol. I'm no Labour voter. grin grin grin

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:52:57

Did you not see her say black mothers make better mothers than white mothers. Total hypocrit useless baggage

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:52:42

Did she mean you, daphne?

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:52:02

Only repeating what Ruth said, daphne.

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:51:21

No....as a typical labour voter (I presume) you just said and saw what you wanted.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:50:37

I seem to have wandered into a primary school playground, judging by the childish name calling.

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:50:17

Hypocritical December Abbott....another champagne socialist...we couldn't afford to send our children to private school but respect the rights of those who can to do so.....Diane Abbot is against private schools for all of us....ONLY FOR HER SON! Makes me sick! If your not up to the job dear LEAVE

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:49:52

"The conservatives are the ONLY credible party. Wake up and see what a bunch of idiots they are."

Well said, Ruth. The Conservatives ARE a bunch of idiots.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:49:26

Errmmm! I don't think anybody else in the world sees Boris as a very credible Foreign Secretary, but TM appointed him.

sarahellenwhitney Thu 04-May-17 13:48:46

Diane Abbot is not the sharpest knife in the box. Her party is now at the lowest it has been for many a year. She needs to keep it zipped before they sink even lower.

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:48:33

How is she prejudiced, Ruth?
I'm prejudiced - against Ukip and Tories. That's quite normal in politics.

I think you are showing your prejudice there, too.

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:47:14

The conservatives are the ONLY credible party. Wake up and see what a bunch of idiots they are.

Ruth1958 Thu 04-May-17 13:46:05

Surely one of the worst politicians ever! Prejudiced, hypocritical and stupid beyond doubt belief....like the labour party!

rosesarered Thu 04-May-17 13:44:48

However the Abbott debacle was far worse!
