Megs36 there is no envy on my part, I prefer the simple things in life. If that is what she wants, fine and as somebody said, it is providing employment for many. I would like to have a glimpse of her wedding dress, end of.

I know everyone will be jumping up and down when I say this but after reading all these comments I can't help feeling there is a lot of envy (jealousy) involved here, live and let live and enjoy what we've got please, sad or what.

The blithering idiot architect who designed our new bus station won an award for his efforts. It's 90% glass - we swelter in Summer and freeze in Winter. It's pretty obvious the architect and those who love its clean lines have never had the joy of waiting 40 minutes for a bus.

Thanks for posting this - it's amazing! (And not in a good way) I sincerely hope that there are going to be many, many opening panes, good air conditioning and not too many guests per square yard; the bride will not look good with a glistening bright red face.
It reminds me in its unwise choice of material of the gruesome entrance pyramid at the Louvre, which has made queuing down the stairs for tickets a nightmare on hot days and turned the lower entrance hall into a sweat box. I do hope it doesn't ruin the wedding; only for the reason than that they are a young couple starting out together and deserve a happy day.

I shall be glad when it is over as even the DT has led in its banner header with "the wedding" . Short of not reading the paper at all it is impossible to escape.

Thinking along the same lines as Jalima1108 - gardening - looks like a giant greenhouse to me - would fit in at Kew Gardens! Still as several folk have said - their money to waste - hope they've got enough for blinds, or else it will get very hot!

Well, it woudn't be my choice but it's their money. To those who are saying the cost is 'an obscene waste' you need to remember that the price of the wedding is making revenue for countless companies and individuals and all will pay tax on it so the money-go-round which pays for our social benefits will be well oiled. Better that than the cash sit in an account doing nothing.

Common and vulgar but the telly will be full of it.

After her stealing the show with her sexy bridesmaid's dress at her sister's wedding I'm looking forward to seeing what her wedding dress will be like

well good luck to her and let her get on with it. I am sure it will be a spectacular day, but I do think she lets her sister down a bit.

My husband's nephew's wedding reception was inside a large marquee with see through sides (not glass though ) and it was a bit warm!

However, it's no-one's business but their own what they spend on their wedding! And, btw gillybob, the marriage of the future king and queen is a public affair. The Royals spend their own money (of which they have plenty) on their own affairs. Many of the 'lavish' events we see are state occasions not family parties!

I tend to agree, hazel - and I actually think it'd be stunning decked out with chandeliers and crystal. I'd have been proper vulgar if I'd ever had money.

Horrible! Looks like the miles of glass houses you pass when driving through Holland from the ferry. If it's sunny it will be a real hothouse in there and if it rains, no one will be able to hear themselves speak!

Blimey! I suppose they'll have to put net curtains up (or trendy blinds or some such) to stop the dreadful paparazzi from taking pictures for their oh so vulgar publications.

What a waste of money! - for one day! And, if it goes as mine did, she will start her period (at the wrong time!) on the morning of the wedding, and spend her wedding night clutching a hot water bottle!

I'm very shallow. I followed the link and ended up planning how to copy that outfit she's wearing to pick up her luxury spa products. The jacket would be easy to make for rather less than the £360 it's on sale for. And I'm sure I've seen some flats in Tesco nearly identical to those Jemima Vine ones (I read this initially as Jeremy Vine, btw, which would have been interesting).

Well I hope its a great day for all concerned- it looks fabulous in an over the top wedding kind of way. Very clever these Middleton girls - I wish my daughters had taken a leaf out of their book and chosen their husbands more wisely.

I agree with gillybob it is an obscene waste of money but there again, she would never have looked at any man with an "ordinary" job. Will it last 5 years?
