One individual's account of daily life in Venezuela now. Blog post by Daniel Llavaneras who was doing PhD research about insects in Caracas.

We have nothing comparable here to complain about. Brexit? Politicians? The BBC? Unruly children? Mothers-in-law? Ungrateful families? Peanuts!

Indeed Elegran

A very sad personal account of a once vibrant country slowly destroying itself.

Venezuela is in a terrible state and funny there is no condemnation of the political system communist/socialist.!

I have always been puzzled over the years as to the 'fawning' the adoration/admiration for the likes of Hugo Chavez, Nicolas Moduro and Fidel Castro when it is blatantly obvious they are a nothing but a bunch of self serving crooks who think nothing of suppressing their own people.

The ' left ' have 'fallen silent' over the fact they have hailed the politics of Venezuela but I have not heard nor read one word of condemnation or support for the starving people of Venezuela . I am not surprised by that though!

Aljazeera TV has for a while given a fair bit of coverage to the ongoing problems in Venezuela , unlike our poor news coverage. The people are literally starving , no medicine and it has been going on for ages. sad
