I am seriously getting worried, that that joke Corbyn might end up running he country, which will within months, put a new social policy in place to be paid for by the ones that work, and on their knees knees already, borrowing money, left right and centre, so that llike every labour government in history leave us in massive debts that will increase until, once again the country votes conservative to sort it all out. I probably won't be here it see that happen. I notuce the frugal life style Blair had, an example to all labour voters. He and his very rich family did very well out of it, pity the country didn't, particularly those youngsters sent to Iraq.

Wait for me please, seems I am not capable of an adult discussion

rosesarered Sun 28-May-17 19:55:33

Yes, Ana time to bail out for anyone with sense now, until the coast is clear.grin

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 19:44:06

This is an interesting article.

inews.co.uk/opinion/im-irish-traveller-election-will-first-time-i-vote/

She's never voted before because her community has only ever seen people attacking them in the media.
Labour was attacked after it gave this commitment to stand by travellers.

How could it Graces , you don't know me, &I wasn't trying to convince anyone.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 18:55:00

I thought that Welshwife. There is no saying anyone will be in the position they will be in after the election. However, whoever is will have a whole department behind them.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 18:53:12

Could we try and stay with reality Luckylegs? Which PM salutes the troops?

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 18:49:04

You drawing a poster for Labour in your childhood does not convinces me of your open mind norose.

In 1966 we had a mock election at school and I voted Communist. But I was young and impressionable and the 6th former standing for this was incredibly popular and good looking. He won and remember one of the other candidates commented that it showed that so often people voted for personality rather than politics. When I left my teens and could actually vote I remembered that and have always looked at the policies rather than the personality.

I really wonder how many Conservative policies those supporting the Theresa May Party could tell us about.

Luckylegs9 Sun 28-May-17 18:47:09

Would I want anyone that wouldn't salute our brave solders, making light of their sacrices for us, that took IRA to his bosum, he appointed Diane Abbot, he did know her, they had an affair.

Ana Sun 28-May-17 18:38:32

Time to bail out, I think...hmm

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 18:37:21

It'spid to be a dyed in the wool anything voter all your life.

Which is great praise for Corbyn who seems to have move voters to Labour from all parties and none RaR

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 18:35:21

Caroline64 very well put. I do agree that most of the levers of state are run by the civil service who move them to face the direction of travel of the party the people asked to represent them. Then, as you say, there is dealing with events and the party stuff so a decent manifesto is ready.

All over the world people at getting fed up with the cut out figure that is presented as their future leader and look for something a little different (poor old USA drew the short straw on that one). I think overcoming the big money is difficult but it can be done. We shall see just how close it comes.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 18:25:15

RAR your post Sun 28-May-17 16:40:50 Goodness me. When you started talking about threesomes I did wonder what you were going to reveal. Someone obviously wound you up. We rarely get more than a nasty dig and "well done xyz".

I actually don't know any Labour supporters who are 'horrified'. Most of my friends who are LP supporters/members are working very hard to get their local person elected and spreading the information about the Tories and May on social media but then I have noticed that Tories are always happy to exaggerate - like talking about being strong and stable when they are wet, woolly and whimpy. - May did look close to tears when the press wouldn't do as they were told when she shouted "nothing has changed" at them didn't she.

It seems that most people are not interested in Brexit as much as May told them to be either. They know those discussions will happen. The naughty children actually want to know just what more austerity will do to them and are asking 'why' when it seems that - given all the taxes we pay that they are not using for the poor and less able - they have increased the problems with the debt. Tut, tut another unkept promise. People don't like it you know.

rosesarered Sun 28-May-17 18:21:27

But he likes them

whitewave Sun 28-May-17 18:20:25

annie of course you don't and you know it. Corbyn can have who he likes.

Ana Sun 28-May-17 18:18:03

Er...are you sure about that? grin

(sorry, cheap shot)

Welshwife Sun 28-May-17 18:15:46

Just maybe were he to be elected Corbyn would choose a different Home Sec to what everyone thinks - when he appointed the lady she was virtually untried.

Anniebach Sun 28-May-17 17:59:50

Jen, if you vote Labour you get Abbott as home secretary and McDonald as chancellor , so a vote for labour is a vote for these two nightmares on legs

norose4 Sun 28-May-17 17:47:05

Well said Luckygirl

norose4 Sun 28-May-17 17:45:53

Well put Annibach

Anniebach Sun 28-May-17 17:42:50

I have been a member of the Labour Party for fifty years. Been to countless conferences, canvassed at every election, met many, many labour supporters and quite a few Labour MP's. What we have now is not the party I have known for so long, the aggression here of the Corbyn supporters is so like the aggression we heard from the likes of Galloway and Hatton. The plotting with and around Corbyn,

There is something rotten in the party which was once labour

norose4 Sun 28-May-17 17:41:12

Thanks Roses , ( I am cooking posting so apologies for getting a bit out of sequence)

lucycakeface Sun 28-May-17 17:40:29

I have been a Labour voter all my life, until two years ago when I switched to UKIP as I desperately wanted out of the EU. Corbyn is promising his voters everything that they want to hear, but where is he going to get the money from?
Even if he raised taxes he would never have enough money for all these promises. So in the end it would sadly boil down to broken promises (much like all the other parties). I would also fear his attitude towards terrorist's following his well known sympathy with the IRA. As for cutting defence!!!!! And don't get me started on the Unions! I think we would be in turmoil if he ever got in, it doesn't bear worth thinking about.
"Dim Tim Farron" is definitely a "NO NO" he really has lost the plot.
So that only really leaves the Conservatives. I think Theresa May is a good strong leader and I think she will get us through Brexit better than Corbyn. However why the hell has she suddenly brought in so many unpopular policies? I was swinging towards Conservatives for the first time ever, but I am seriously thinking of not voting for anyone now, I think they have all lost the plot, ooh errrr!

norose4 Sun 28-May-17 17:38:35

Durhamjen it seems you get very assuming about the character & beliefs of other posters if they do not agree with you,

Anniebach Sun 28-May-17 17:32:38

Corbyn has complete faith in Abbott, this alone is enough to question his judgement surely.

A woman who compares changing her views on the I.R.A. with changing her hair style .

And his closest advisor

a shadow chancellor who calls fellow labour MP's f*****g losers from the stage in the O2

rosesarered Sun 28-May-17 17:32:10

Well, you see this proves my point durhamjen because ab is likely to vote otherwise this time or abstain because of her worries about Corbyn.People and policies you see.
