Who is going to win?

"Labour failed to turn up, abstained or voted with the Tories."

That's what's baffling me about Labour - they seemed to do very little opposing of the Tories, so how do we know they are actually any different?

My prediction? I don't have one but I would like to see a small majority for whoever wins and more cooperation on what's good for the country, instead of adversarial posturing.

More hypocrisy over the matter of Theresa May calling an election on various threads since she became PM.

The same voices were predominant in their view Theresa May was NOT eligible to PM because she was NOT VOTED for but she was shoo - in by the party.

The same voices as I have posted before didn't have the same concern when Gordon Brown wasn't voted for but was a shoo - in by the party. The politics of spin and bias for you.

Roses Given that the Tories have not polled a majority in Scotland since just after WW2, I think it would be poetic justice if the SNP held the balance of power in Westminster. During the last Parliament they have been the 3rd largest party and the only effective opposition, challenging government policies at every opportunity, while Labour failed to turn up, abstained or voted with the Tories.

Strange Luckygirl that you are calling TM arrogant for calling a general election, nobody is that stupid or arrogant, I think she wants to go into Brexit with the support of the electorate & if not can bow out to whoever is elected that way she cannot br critisized for taking us out of Europe without the country's support for her ( and you can be sure that would have happened) after all she was not PM when we had the referendum damned if you do , dammned if you don't.

Just looked at the Ipsos Mori poll - June 1 it had Cons 45% Lab 40%.

Blimey!! Ipsos have put Corbyn ahead of Maybot!!!! I don't dare believe it though.

Apparently 1/4 million younger people registered before the deadline and they are the ones largely to vote for Corbyn. I would be deletions with a hung parliament, but I she'll be hysterical with a Corbyn win.

I do think that TM will win - note I say TM rather than her party. This is very personal - her whole approach has been about her rather than her party.

Her arrogance in openly stating that she is calling the election to firm up her base before the Brexit negotiations (i.e. she has not even countenanced the idea that she might lose) is only beaten by DC's referendum - it never entered his arrogant head that it might not go his way. What a pair!

However, hopefully some of the results will clip TM's wings a bit.

The Theresa May party will win. The whole country will lose for the foreseeable future. The best way to avoid the worst of the damage is to elect the maximum number of Liberal Democrats and hope that May's majority is reduced.

Perhaps it is because each faction seems more bent on demonising the other rather than offering a positive view of the future, but I too feel increasing dread whichever way it goes.
As I suggested when I started another thread, TM may have seriously miscalculated when she called this election as attention is being diverted from other urgent issues. But no amount of mudslinging will benefit any of us, as with the EU referendum and the Scottish referendum, all this "choosing" will not make us one whit better off.
I find it all profoundly depressing.

For the first time, I really don't care, both will be a disaster . My one hope is the decent labour MP's hold their seats ,

Dare I say it but neither is fit.

To be honest this election is so boring and what is on offer from all political parties is so dire I really don't give a toss.

I have, as they say, a previous engagement on June 8th so once I have voted I will have better things to do until late on the 9th June than take any interest in this dreary election. Hopefully by the time I do surface into the real world again, it will all be done and dusted and much of the media will have moved on.
