The exit pole predicting no overall majority.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:25:25

So all goes well - then the spite and personal attacks and now the pictures. Nothing has changed except a few posters have joined in who were not on this thread before.

What do you expect others to think of your posts?

daphnedill Fri 09-Jun-17 10:25:11

The name is on the list, but obviously not crossed off. The list is the electoral role. Names are crossed off to stop people trying to defraud the system, by claiming to be somebody they're not.

gillybob Fri 09-Jun-17 10:24:51

Now if Anthony Joshua were standing for any party he might get my vote wink

annifrance Fri 09-Jun-17 10:24:46

Just joined this thread. I slept through it and woke up to Son of Brexit. Gillybob yout first post was spot on. It's Lalaland.

How does JC think he would have been able to execute his manifesto without plunging the country into deepest debt.

Whoever is in power cannot resolve the dire problems of the NHS until someone's has the sense to totally reform the system - get rid of over massively oversubscribed, overpaid inefficient management. Put in place a small payment for treatment received, get people to take some responsibility for themselves. Perhaps then the deeply put upon medical profession can get on with their excellent jobs.

gillybob Fri 09-Jun-17 10:23:55

"All was going well until your post...."
Aaaaaah, did I spoil your game ?

Listen to yourself GG

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 10:23:45

dd any more info about what the DUP can or can't vote for?

Jalima1108 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:22:47

Is he a new MP harrigran?

but what about the in-betweeners
he didn't mention them

DD would have voted green anyway but she isn't here!

gillybob Fri 09-Jun-17 10:22:12

So shallow harri grin

daphnedill Fri 09-Jun-17 10:22:09

DD canvassed for Labour in Manchester Gorton - twice, because the original by election was cancelled. About 30% of Gorton constituents are students plus the non-student young residents. It's one of the youngest constituencies in the country.

Support for Labour was strong even before the manifestos, although there was a wobble when the LDs got off to a flying start.

Students didn't actually believe that Labour would be able to abolish fees and many of them didn't see it as fair anyway, because it wouldn't benefit those who don't go to uni or those who have already paid off their debts.

Gorton is a Labour stronghold anyway, but there was an increased majority. DD spoke to hundreds of them. The reason people voted Labour was because they wanted change and Corbyn gave them some hope.

JanaNana Fri 09-Jun-17 10:21:26

Gillybob....just supposing your sister had done a postal vote .....her name would,nt then be on the list at the polling booth I don,t think, as her sealed vote would have been sent already. I don,t know this for certain but it stands to reason to me.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:20:19

All was going well until this post gillybob. I think you will find it was yours.

No wonder the turn out of the young was so high. JC was promising them the world on a plate. Quite who was going to pay for it was another question entirely.

As I said before, I hate them all.

That is an attack on the younger generations ability to think for themselves and a hate attack.

Up to this post all was pretty chatty. I notice you are still despising the ability of people to make up their own minds by talking about bribery. That sort of post is spiteful and it is not my post.

I think the problem may be that extreme language is your way of everyday speaking but none of these extremes happened on here until you joined the thread.

harrigran Fri 09-Jun-17 10:18:28

On a lighter note.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 10:17:10

Mumsnet are cock-a-hoop

Ginny42 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:15:56

I prefer to view the tuition fees as investing in our youth. They are our future and we need an educated population. Not just to educate them for work, but for them to have the very best education for themselves.

gillybob Fri 09-Jun-17 10:15:04

Bribing grey voters, bribing young people. Lots of bribing going on.

I am neither so cannot be bribed. grin

Jalima1108 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:14:27

Your bribery is my investment Jalima and that is the difference isn't it.
I'm not saying I disagree with that - who would disagree that the future of our country depends on the education of our young people? Not necessarily through a university education though.

Very well timed though wasn't it!!

And what about all those who are still struggling with student debt which was introduced?
Who introduced fees and loans in the first place?
Who encouraged half of all young people to go to university?

Like the WASPI women now, there would be a large group of in-betweeners who would be angry and disaffected - between the pre-loan/fee group of university-educated older people (possibly only about 5% of that age group) and those of the present generation of young people who would be loan-free.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:12:59

Name calling again Annie - just when you have denied it.

daphnedill Fri 09-Jun-17 10:12:31

grin grin grin This is hilarious. Governments have been bribing grey voters for ages, but I guess that was OK.

gillybob Fri 09-Jun-17 10:11:34

It was YOU who started the personal attacks GG how can you not see this? Why not go back and read your posts from this morning?

Anniebach Fri 09-Jun-17 10:11:07

Because you Corbynites had no one to bitch Whitewave, this is a forum for all to posts their opinions . My first post this morning was an optimistic reminder of a labour success in the seventies, you had no knowledge of this and jumped in with an attack.

daphnedill Fri 09-Jun-17 10:10:26

sunseeker The figures you gave are absolute rubbish. Somebody got it wrong.

Maggiemaybe Fri 09-Jun-17 10:10:00

Sunseeker, your figures are way out. Labour have 12.8 million votes so far, Conservatives 13.6 million.

I can't imagine where 31 million v 13 million came from, but your local radio station sounds as useless as mine.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 10:08:51

Just like Corbyn nothing personal but arguing the topic not the man what bliss it was

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 10:07:03

I so enjoyed our night gg what a happy period. No spite, nothing personal simple political chat

Anniebach Fri 09-Jun-17 10:06:54
