The exit pole predicting no overall majority.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 20:31:46

Oh I do hope so LSP. I thought I had misheard but I ran it back and that's what she said. Frightening - the DUP dictating who negotiates Brexit!shock

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 20:28:19

Anyone see Alastair Campbell on breakfast?

Its worth a watch

LumpySpacedPrincess Sun 11-Jun-17 20:23:22

Gets worse GG, Goves back in the cabinet.

As for Farage, isn't he a "person of interest" in the FBI investigation?

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 19:56:41

I have been captured by aliens and taken to another planet! BBC News, Catherine Barnard, Professor of EU and employment Law university of Kent said "Now there is some talk about the DUP insisting now that perhaps Nigel Farage has the role" (of Brexit negotiator).

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 19:38:34

Thank you Maizie. I do seem to be blocked with that one.

daphnedill Sun 11-Jun-17 18:56:13

You're just being ridiculous ab. I'm not going to continue this conversation.

How small business owners influenced the result.

You told me Daphne

daphnedill Sun 11-Jun-17 17:52:06

in any case, there are poor families and children even in areas where the average wealth is high.

daphnedill Sun 11-Jun-17 17:50:27

How would you know ab? Have you ever been here? I doubt if it's unusual at all. Don't believe everything you read.

daphnedill Sun 11-Jun-17 17:48:40

How many pupils are in the school? How many staff? And how much is the budget? Is it an academy? The bonuses will probably be for performance (exam) targets. These days, it's often the headteacher's job which is for the chop, if a school's performance goes down. There's a shortage of quality applicants for headship roles, because they don't tend to last long.

I'm not claiming the salary is justified, but try finding out how much the average classroom teacher's pay is. It's nothing like that.

Anniebach Sun 11-Jun-17 17:45:44

Do you Daphne, and in the second most affluent part of the county , unusual

gillybob Sun 11-Jun-17 17:41:24

The last printed salary for the headteacher was over £110,000 plus pension contributions and bonuses . ( what on earth the bonuses are for????) This was 2014. There are 2 other staff members on similar salaries . I know that this has increased a fair bit since then as there are news reports criticising the governors for voting the head a "considerable" pay rise in 2016 .

daphnedill Sun 11-Jun-17 17:40:35

I know plenty of teenagers who don't have ipads and iphones. hmm

Anniebach Sun 11-Jun-17 17:30:06

if you say so whitewave,if you say so

Shaun Woodward says Tory working with DUP is morally reprehensible. Says he knows of no previous PM who would have crossed that line.

Owen Paterson former NI Secretary suggests that abortion times might be up for discussion. So much for no social issues.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 16:43:23

annie don't be so prickly - it was a passing remark no more no less

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 16:40:32

Girls play football and on games consoles, too. That's all she was saying, I think.

Anniebach Sun 11-Jun-17 16:40:26

I am sure far more boys and girls want to play football, discuss fashion, hair styles, who is dating who, or getting on Facebook ,play on their games consul than spend an hour every night on violin practise

Anniebach Sun 11-Jun-17 16:35:53

Could you try realy hard not to nit pick Whitewave ? Try it

I just didn't think a post covering both sexes and all ages was necessary, should have known better with the Corbynites on parade

Maggiemaybe Sun 11-Jun-17 15:33:42

But probably true.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 15:30:55

Blimey annie that seems a bit sexist?!

Anniebach Sun 11-Jun-17 15:26:16

Maizie, children now have much to occupy their evenings , many have iPhones/iPads/laptops, I was just saying not all children want to spend an hour every evening on music practice , not who can afford them and who can't . I am sure far more boys want to play football or on a games consul than on a violin.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 15:10:10

blush I don't know a child who hasn't got an iPad or iPhone. It just shows doesn't it? How different lives are being led in different parts of the country. I'm not saying that iPads and iPhones are necessary or even desirable but it shows perhaps the difference in the level of income/inequality.
