Now this really be worth doing!!

Let's start with the QS.

What will be left out/watered down! Not sure how they will explain it away as it's in the manifesto. Probably say something like "Brexit and all it's complications will mean that stuff will have to be shelved"

Fox hunting - out
Triple lock - remains
Social care - out

This is what the police and fire officers think of the fact that the Tories voted against them having a pay rise.

'It seems to be getting remarkably little attention, but while most of the Queen's Speech votes in Parliament on Weds and Thursday were won by the Tories 323-309 because of their DUP supporters, the first vote on Thursday was won by the bigger margin of 323-297.

That vote was on Labour's amendment on a variety of measures to end the institutional impoverishment of our young people and our poorest. The reason the 'aye' vote was 12 lower than usual is because the LibDems abstained, essentially siding with the Tories to continue penalising poor people and our aspirational youth.'

Any libdem care to explain that?
I did wonder why the first vote was so different.

It really is appalling isn't it that in a country which is said to be the 5th or 6th richest in the world, we have this sort of poverty.

durhamjen Fri 30-Jun-17 12:01:14

This is worrying, from Frank Field.

Presumably that would be the autumn statement drawn up by Hammond who has publically stated that he is against the policy?

Two days ago the Tories were cheering because they had just voted down taking away the cap

Bloody hell how mad can a government get

trisher Fri 30-Jun-17 11:32:24

Maybe it isn't a Magic Money tree, maybe it is just 2 bilionl and a bit more that May lost down the back of the sofa early on and that explains why she wasn't able to balance the 'household budget'

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 11:19:59

This is what a weakened minority goverenment looks like and is entirely the fault of May and Hard Brexit and Tory austerity.

durhamjen Fri 30-Jun-17 11:19:15

Any bets on May being out before the Autumn budget?

durhamjen Fri 30-Jun-17 11:18:38

Come on, roses, May's making an idiot of herself.

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 11:18:22

Excuses excuses for a shambolic chaotic the left hand doesnt know what the right is doing government

rosesarered Fri 30-Jun-17 11:13:58

Presumably the pay cap on public workers will be reviewed for the Autumn budget. So what's wrong with that?
Luckily dj I don't take things as personally as you do.

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 11:06:41

grin try again!

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 11:06:14

[Grin]

durhamjen Fri 30-Jun-17 11:05:23

Their economic policy is going round in ever diminishing circles and down the plughole.

durhamjen Fri 30-Jun-17 11:04:29

By the way, just in case anyone thinks I've been reading the Sun on the sly, it was in an article in Huffpost.

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 11:03:57

I wonder what their actual economic policy is now?

trisher Fri 30-Jun-17 11:01:14

Does this mean austerity is over? Or is it the Magic Money Tree May reckoned she didn't have until she had to buy the DUP? Does she really think everyone can be bought?

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 10:58:48

Oh dear oh dear.

The Tories need to go

durhamjen Fri 30-Jun-17 10:55:40

It's in the Sun as well, so it must be true.
20 Tory backbenchers marched on Downing Street.

Roses, do you like being made a fool of?
They voted down the amendment to the Queens Speech on Wednesday which was literally just about that. They sided with the government, and they cheered when it was voted down.
Now May says she will do it, but not yet, as that will make it seem like Corbyn won!

Only idiots can't see that this is a travesty of our political system.

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 10:21:33

I wonder if May discussed this with Hammond - who yesterday was dead set against it? I suspect it has more to do with their row , and May feeling a bit more secure after the QS.

What a shambles

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 10:03:22

Pleased for the nurses etc.

But horrified at the chaos and seemingly clueless way this government is proceeding

rosesarered Fri 30-Jun-17 10:01:28

Really? I thought you would be pleased.

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 09:59:49

Report in Telegraph

May is to lift pay cap on public sector pay.

This is beginning to get ridiculous

whitewave Fri 30-Jun-17 09:20:51

Not yet elegran they are still recruiting the civil servants

Elegran Fri 30-Jun-17 09:17:04

The rest of the world have probably forgotten the kitemark since the CE mark has been so ubiquitous. I hope a campaign to revive awareness of it is planned - it ought to be already under way to prepare the ground for potential
