Now this really be worth doing!!

Let's start with the QS.

What will be left out/watered down! Not sure how they will explain it away as it's in the manifesto. Probably say something like "Brexit and all it's complications will mean that stuff will have to be shelved"

Fox hunting - out
Triple lock - remains
Social care - out

I might be on the beach!!grin last night so must make the most of it.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 22-Jun-17 19:19:50

They may re-run it later on the Parliament channel whitewave. Such knowledge from the constituency MPs.

whitewave Thu 22-Jun-17 19:05:41

Oh! Would liked to have heard that.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 22-Jun-17 19:04:09

I have just been listening to the Grenfell Tower Statement and the subsequent debate. I only listened to it with half an ear to the live broadcast so was a little mislead by tales of anger. Really I have to congratulate both sides for an excellent debate. TM was well across her brief and the questions were both thoughtful, measured and extremely knowledgeable. Blame, to my mind, is for the future but this was Parliament - all sides - at it's best. Oh and the speaker was excellent too.

Apparently the day which was meant to be Maybots coronation, was a total damp squib.

Queen turns up wrapped in the EU colours. Charles looksd as if he'd rather be anywhere else.
May mistakenly bows to the Queen -she was probably asking for forgiveness for mucking the Queen about.
May was her in full Maybot mode.

Most of the original speech had been dumped.

The usual witty and effervescent speeches from the back benchers were missing.

Corbyn had so many open goals it was ridiculous.

Maybot responded as usual by saying nothing of any meaning. Johnson seemed to have gone to sleep - he is waiting for 2019. and Phil tried to look like another unelected PM in waiting.

Oh well another day tomorrow

First fullfact there has been for a while. About fire regulations.

David Lammy on here, mentioning police cuts, and the fire brigade.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 22:21:25

Police cuts making real difficulties in trying to cover everything needed.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 22:18:40

DUP still being a pain. Amazing that she can't do a deal with a party that would only ever vote the way the Tories do.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 18:54:51

Not enough civil servants!! What a surprise. And no extra cash. Sheer lunacy

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Jun-17 17:33:52

It just goes to show, no matter how arrogant you are, you can't control events. The Tories were rubbing their hands with glee when they thought the boundary changes would be to their advantage. Certainly no one was suggesting they shouldn't go ahead. It looks awfully self-serving if they don't know. To be honest I just wish we could have PR.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 17:24:40

Oh that's interesting.

durhamjen Wed 21-Jun-17 17:18:03

I have read that a sticking point for the DUP is the boundary changes.
If they go ahead, the DUP will lose seats and Sinn Fein will gain.

However, if they go ahead, the Tories will now lose more seats than Labour. I wonder if the Tories have realised that. Some of the top Tories could lose their seats.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 17:15:25

I must say that the whole day seems extremely odd. No normal pomp and ceremony. 90secs of QS. What on earth are we paying them for for the next 2 years?

The Government is still trying to patch up their majority. It is all very unstable. Not sure how the stuff left out if the manifesto works with Hammond's budget.

The country is properly more fundamentally divided than it has been since before the Second World War.

£2bn potentially extra for NI - how can that be fair? Just to prop up this has been government.

durhamjen Wed 21-Jun-17 17:06:20

RSPB has a campaign to write to your MPs about the environment.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 16:34:59

grin

durhamjen Wed 21-Jun-17 16:33:49

Antediluvian does.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 16:31:48

Well not a lot existed before that as far as the DUP is concerned.

MawBroon Wed 21-Jun-17 16:30:36

Antedeluvian means "before the Flood " does it not?

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 16:27:56

I keep grinning at the Queens hat.

Rigby46 Wed 21-Jun-17 16:24:10

Don't be unfair to the Dark Ages gg - when I said antedeluvium I meant exactly that

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Jun-17 16:18:12

I can't say I am unhappy that the DUP was annoyed. Their views on almost everything come from the dark ages.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 16:07:11

May is not finding it easy is she? I can see it will definately be very unstable.

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 16:04:43

Nothing about the environment in QS.
Lucas asked if this was left out at a request of the DUP, as they are as we know climate change deniers.

DUP was annoyedgrin

whitewave Wed 21-Jun-17 15:45:38

Just seen a picture of the Queens outfit!!! Well done your Maj. Hat was outstanding! Full European colours -what a lovely message to your subjects. Queen supports the EU. grin
