Now this really be worth doing!!

Let's start with the QS.

What will be left out/watered down! Not sure how they will explain it away as it's in the manifesto. Probably say something like "Brexit and all it's complications will mean that stuff will have to be shelved"

Fox hunting - out
Triple lock - remains
Social care - out

durhamjen Tue 13-Jun-17 08:01:04

Mawbroon, that's an old picture. Martin McGuinness is dead.

whitewave Tue 13-Jun-17 07:49:40

I understand that all the DUP want is money.

I hope that May has explained that there is no Magic Money Tree

whitewave Tue 13-Jun-17 07:39:13

So what is possible with such a lame duck government?

The answer - not a lot

The manifesto has been hollowed out to such an extent that the QS is going to be one of the shotist ever
Fox hunting - gone
Grammers - gone
Triple lock - gone
Social care - gone
Hard Brexit? - a massive war going on
Austerity?- watch this space - they will do anything to retain power so presumable ditch any principle to attract the voter.
Boundary changes? Almost certain to go as they wont get it through
One wonders -

What is the point of this government?

Someone else said
" Napoleon said- Never interfer with the enemy when he is in the process of desroying himself"

All Corbyn has to do is quietly go about preparing for the next election campaign by getting his strong and ruthless team on message then sit back and watch as the Tories dig a bigger and bigger hole as they try to tackle all the unholy messes they have made.

Election? Bring it on!

whitewave Tue 13-Jun-17 07:19:31

Someone asked if it is worthwhile to take down their Vote Labour poster - or leave them up for next time grin

MawBroon Tue 13-Jun-17 07:09:22

Sorry, pasted the wrong thing.
Is this the pic you meant? Arlene Foster, not Ruth Davidson.

MawBroon Tue 13-Jun-17 07:06:42

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40249644

Have I got the right link?
That's Arlene Foster, not Ruth Davidson surely?

GracesGranMK2 Tue 13-Jun-17 00:00:49

News Night ended with lot of leaping goat after assuring us that no goats are harmed in the making of the HoP vellum smile

daphnedill Mon 12-Jun-17 23:35:03

Sacking Robert Halfon is a bad move. He's the MP for a neighbouring constituency and just about everybody I know speaks highly of him.
Harlow is the kind of constituency the Conservatives need to hang on to, if they're in for the long term.

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 23:22:36

She was there, today, same side of the table as May. She's actually talking about it on BBC news now.

Hope the DUP don't want seats in cabinet. Nothing would get done.
OH, hang on...

A longstanding family business close to use had the contract to produce the vellum for Westminster. It was recently decided however that acts of parliament would no longer be written on vellum and we fully expect them to go out of business now. sad

MawBroon Mon 12-Jun-17 23:19:37

When wasit announced dj?
I too would be confused as she is not a Westminster MP

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40249644

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 23:12:53

Why does Ruth Davidson have a seat in the cabinet?

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 22:52:24

It seems that May has sacked Robert Halfon, the one Tory who saw what was going to happen with Corbyn.
Apparently he was a friend of Osborne's.

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 22:42:57

Barwell is very quick, isn't he.
Did anyone notice that, when the press were waiting for May to come out of no. 10, he came out and was called 'someone else'? He's been such a good housing minister that he isn't recognised.

whitewave Mon 12-Jun-17 20:59:04

I think Hestltine is absolutely right

Ana Mon 12-Jun-17 20:58:01

Did you get that from Twitter?

whitewave Mon 12-Jun-17 20:56:42

Seems that it was Brexit wot won it for JC

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 20:52:59

No, sorry. can't help with the vellum.
I watched them making some last year at the Magna Carta exhibition in Durham. They might have some there.

whitewave Mon 12-Jun-17 20:50:46

Oh i didnt know that!!!! No leather etc?

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 20:48:28

This is why they are running around like headless chickens.

whitewave Mon 12-Jun-17 20:36:04

My mp on tv!

GracesGranMK2 Mon 12-Jun-17 20:14:56

What destruction.

Rigby46 Mon 12-Jun-17 17:56:04

Hike = joke. Sighs again

Rigby46 Mon 12-Jun-17 17:55:13

gg this is the most serious aspect of the Tories prostituting themselves with those bigots. There is already a reaction - the very idea that Brokenshire can act as a non partisan mediator in trying to bring back power sharing is a sick hike. It's all the DUPs fault and especially AF's that it broke down again in the first place. She's a piece of work
