I am reposting this as the best thing I have seen in connection with politics in a LONG TIME.
In case you have missed out on the Great Get Together thread, I am, heart in mouth, reposting in a second place (ooh missus!! grin )

Bellanonna Gfery is short for goaderyfuckery, or posting a deliberate attempt to goad someone into reacting aggressively so that you can then attack them for rising to the bait. Not the same thing as feroomery, or starting a fight in an empty room, which is one of the favourite ways for a poster with chronic aggression syndrome to find an outlet by reacting volcanically to a peaceful or "frivolous" post.

Warning, I am still typing from a tiny mobile and I still can't see the full screen and so any typos in this post, like my others, are not intended to inflame, provoke or cause upset. I see no requirement to apologise to you rigby. Everyone else was fully aware that my typo of writing Joe instead of Jo was exactly that, not malicious or vindictive, just a typo. Your posts however were spiteful and mean and you sought to take the moral high ground with me. For what it's woth, I held Ms Cox in high regard and was as shocked and upset as everyone else at her death, however, I need no lectures from you, or anyone else as to whether I found maws link amusing or whether you found it disrespect ful. Your posts about me, and to me, have revealed so much more about you than me. No one has the right to police the GN threads except GNHQ and, as they have apparently been in contact with you about your posts, I hope that you will take that on board.

I think it's much more fun than the boring celeb original.

MawBroon Thu 15-Jun-17 13:10:44

It was this actually and GracesgranMk2 had already spotted it on "Democracy hahaha" which I clearly hadn't.

Worth a read, maybe a smile

What the blankety blank are you on about now Rigby? *?? ?
The "enraging "reference was a play on words (check out the smiley faces ) because somebody maybe GGMk2 maybe you yourself, was "enraged" because I posted a thing recently as a new thread which had apparently appeared already, and the post which started THIS thread is also on the Great Get Together thread (top of the page, but judging from the fact that I was the last person to post on it, not receiving a lot of attention)

And WTF are you rabbiting on about DA now for? I suggested she was il because seriously underperforming in interview. Others, including the Labour leader, clearly had similar views.
She has revealed she IS ill. End of.
Yawn.
Perhaps you could get similarly exercised about some other issue. Vent your not inconsiderable spleen elsewhere. Or in the vernacular, "Give it a rest".

gillybob Thu 15-Jun-17 13:05:31

I very rarely read or open links but I did open this one and really rather enjoyed it. smile

Rigby46 Thu 15-Jun-17 12:53:28

It's posting something that you know very very well will provoke a strong reaction and doing it only for that reason

Rigby46 Thu 15-Jun-17 12:52:20

It wasn't just the title, the post itself was deliberately and knowingly provocative. I suppose MB's missing not being able to have a go at DA

Bellanonna Thu 15-Jun-17 12:51:45

Am i allowed to ask what gfery means? I'm ignorant. Or is it not printable? A hint maybe?

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 12:47:26

Oh, jut seen that there are several posts between my use of feroomery and Rigby's comment that it is called gfery on MN. Rigby was referring to the thread title. Well, plenty of threads have titles with provocative titles, and some are to items even more controversial than this one.

Bellanonna Thu 15-Jun-17 12:42:13

Your first post makes a lot of sense notme.
Not much chance of your second post happpening. (As you will know!)

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 12:34:12

No harm in having another term for unnecessary belligerence. I quite like the word feroomery. Hope it will catch on.

Rigby46 Thu 15-Jun-17 12:30:15

_Elegran it's called gfery on the other side

GracesGranMK2 Thu 15-Jun-17 12:25:35

More a case of being deliberately self-fulfilling - and not in a good way.

Rigby46 Thu 15-Jun-17 12:25:21

As some of you will have been expecting, I've heard from HQ. I accept that on reflection, my second post to Chewbacca could have been more measured and reflected more thoughtfully what I meant so here goes

Chewbacca for whatever reason, you have spelled Jo's name incorrectly after I pointed that out perfectly reasonably. I think it's very sad that you were not more careful about the spelling the second time. It's just over a year since she died, we are coming up to the weekend to celebrate what she stood for. She was by all accounts a fine and genuine person - a much loved daughter, sister and wife and the mother to two little children who will never feel her arms around them again or hear her whisper good night to them as she strokes their cheek. I don't think it's too much to expect that she continues to be respected and admired for what she did and what she stood for. Part of that respect could be spelling her name correctly - she chose to use this form and spelling and it's just a nod by us, no matter how small, in the direction of respect.

To my other critics, , I think there were some cheap shots about typos that were completely irrelevant and childish and quite frankly I think the OP was ill judged and as gg implies, had a goady title. Why put it on this board ?

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 12:22:13

Prediction?

GracesGranMK2 Thu 15-Jun-17 12:03:02

I wonder why this title "At the risk of enraging present company" was seen as appropriate?

harrigran Thu 15-Jun-17 11:55:18

You will have to shout louder Notme grin

gillybob Thu 15-Jun-17 11:32:43

Put political arguments aside for the day

Wow, Notme you don't ask for much do you?

On Gransnet, there's no chance of that.

grin

GracesGranMK2 Thu 15-Jun-17 11:32:24

I think the Sun did not understand one iota what Jo Cox was about - no surprise there though.

Notme Thu 15-Jun-17 11:29:40

Perhaps even Gransnetters could be friendly for just one day. grin

Notme Thu 15-Jun-17 11:28:42

I don't think it's meant to be funny, and it's not a pisstake. It's encouraging everyone, of all political persuasions, to have friendly fun together on the anniversary of Jo's death. Put political arguments aside for the day. I think it's meant to do good in communities.Bring people together.

gillybob Thu 15-Jun-17 10:52:35

But Chewbacca has already explained it was not deliberate!

Oh to be so perfect.

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 10:52:26

I see fuckwittery and feroomery (fight-in-an-empty-roomery) in Rigby's posts on this, not in Chewbacca's.

MawBroon Thu 15-Jun-17 10:46:08

and you know that really as do he others (sic)
anybody can make a typo.
Now could you possibly be a little less engaged/enraged (whichever) and calm down?
