Former leadership rival Owen Smith appointed to Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary in Jeremy Corbyn’s reshuffle

Announcing the changes to his Shadow Cabinet, Mr Corbyn said: “I am delighted to announce four appointments to fill shadow cabinet vacancies. I look forward to working with the strengthened shadow cabinet as we prepare a government in waiting to carry out our manifesto for the many not the few.

You need a lie down in a darkened room kittylester, while someone who is very kind makes you some soup. smile

The preview bit of this thread only shows up to 'both way's', petra. I thought it was breaking news! it really made me giggle - I know, before anyone says anything, infantile! My excuse is that I've just seen the hygienist!! grin

petra Mon 10-Jul-17 17:13:06

I'm assuming Bernie knows that Corbyn swings both ways Re brexit. Wish I was a fly on the wall grin

Primrose65 Mon 10-Jul-17 17:03:39

I don't think it's such a big deal with Corbyn and Barnier. I mean, Barnier has met loads of UK politicians in the recent past, both Tory and Labour, and plenty of business people too. The journos are just getting over excited.

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 16:13:05

Thank goodness for that...!

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 15:32:48

I was replying to your sneer and giving examples of what I meant by my remark. But of course you know that don't you? You enjoy playing games. Conversation ended

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 15:27:28

I think you're on the wrong thread, whitewave, and addressing the wrong people. I haven't mentioned 'whitewashing' or 'bullyboy tactics' confused

nigglynellie Mon 10-Jul-17 15:24:26

Clearly 'the road to hell, paved with good intentions' annie. I think we've all fallen into that trap at one time or another but perhaps not quite so catastrophically as the proposing of JC?!!!!

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 15:14:07

Sorry why do you want to know about my school. What on earth has that got to do with anythinggrin

So if someone says to you so and so uses bullyboy tactics or after my description of a particular entity say I am white washing. I then ask for either evidence or reason for the remark and I get absolutely zilch except a repeat of the original remark, I think I am justified in assuming they don't know what they are talking about.

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 15:08:10

What sort of school did you go to? hmm

If you're going to come out with statements such as Barnier is keen to discuss Corbyns position re Brexit. it would be helpful to know where you got that information from, otherwise you could just have plucked it from thin air to suit your own agenda.

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 15:04:39

Play ground stuff ana

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 15:03:23

Glad you're so sure of yourself...

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 15:01:59

Yes

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 14:59:43

Really?

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 14:55:51

Yes ana but I always avoid trying to throw in flyaway totally unsubstantiated remarks without something to back them up if you ask.

Unfortunately people are not always prepared to justify their remarks so I am left with the assumption that they haven't a clue what they are talking about.

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 14:52:25

Ah - I'll have to bear in mind that as long as someone says they read something somewhere, it must be true!

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 14:46:54

Oh! Why didn't you say.

Bloomberg, CNN and somewhere else which I can't find for the life of me now, because I read it last week.

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 14:43:45

That's the problem with not giving sources.

kittylester Mon 10-Jul-17 14:43:39

Just wondering where you read it?

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 14:42:10

kitty I can only repeat that I repeated what I read.

I don't know Barnier personally so for all I know he couldn't give a toss what anyone thinks. But that's not what I read.

I read stuff and sometimes I bung the information on here sometimes I don't bother. But it is what I read!!!

kittylester Mon 10-Jul-17 14:39:24

I meant, how do you know with such conviction, that Barnier wants to know about Corbyn's position Re Brexit?

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 14:14:11

Oh! that's what I read * kitty*

But don't make the assumption from that , that I support Corbyns stance on Brexit .

I am a strong supporter of remain.

kittylester Mon 10-Jul-17 14:05:31

Sorry - that's to ww.

kittylester Mon 10-Jul-17 14:04:23

That Barnier is keen to discuss Corbyn's position.

Anniebach Mon 10-Jul-17 14:04:21

Niggly , he couldn't get many to support him then some like Margaret Hodge did because of her belief of inclusion, as she said later, 'I thought he was an honourable man but now I know he is a devious man'
