Will anyone face prosecution ? It is being announced today

vampirequeen Wed 28-Jun-17 10:52:31

If anyone is prosecuted they will simply be patsies who are being thrown to the lions in order to protect those higher up.

Well if that is the case, it might serve as a warning next time people are told/encouraged to lie and collude. Actually, no one will be prosecuted that there isn't a case against rather that some will NOT be prosecuted that there IS a case against.

The six being prosecuted look pretty 'high up' to me

Start

Mr Duckenfield faces manslaughter by gross negligence of 95 men, women and children.
Sir Norman faces four charges of misconduct in a public office relating to alleged lies he told in the aftermath about the culpability of fans
Graham Mackrell, former Sheffield Wednesday Club Secretary, will be accused of breaching Health and Safety and Safety at Sports Ground legislation
Peter Metcalf, who was a solicitor acting for SYP, is charged with perverting the course of Justice, relating to changes to witness statements
Former Ch Supt Donald Denton is accused of perverting the course of justice
Former Det Ch Insp Alan Foster is charged with perverting the course of justice

End

Good. But they've all had the best part of 30 years to carry on with their lives. Unlike the victims and their friends and relatives. Disgraceful. Let's hope those culpable re Green fell (predictive text.) are prosecuted swiftly.

Lets hope those thought culpable for Grenfell will not be prosecuted swiftly. The errors that led to the Grenfell fire are complex and the result of actions over many decades, not just one event of an afternoon.

Swift prosecutions will lead either to charges being thrown out or the defendants being acquitted or unjust convictions of the office boy because he is an easy target.

If there are to be prosecutions, they should not be decided until after a wide ranging and careful enquiry into the complex play of events that led to this dreadful fire, when it is clear where the , blame if any, directly lies, and prosecutions are well-founded and provable in court.

I have mixed feelings about this. I am pleased that someone is at last being held to account. But, DH and DS2 were there and DS sometimes suffers nightmares when Hillsborough is mentioned and a trial means it will be all over the place!! sad

I sympathise kitty, sadly the scars will always be there and can open up at any time
