Does anyone regret the choice they made in the referendum now that we are gradually seeing the effects of leaving the EU ?

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 16:44:33

That's wanted by the majority of the UK according to - I think it's survation

devongirl Mon 10-Jul-17 16:42:22

Why we need a second referendum IMO

yggdrasil Mon 10-Jul-17 16:39:04

I think a lot of people didn't vote because they were waiting for some proper information on the options. They never got it, till now

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 15:03:11

?????????

Good on them. Brave hearts!!

TriciaF Mon 10-Jul-17 14:59:26

Another 2 who have changed their minds - eldest daughter and her partner voted leave. They now wish they had been prepared better for the decision, and think they should have either abstained or voted remain.

devongirl Mon 10-Jul-17 14:14:01

I think a lot of 'remainers' didn't bother to vote as they thought there was no way we were going to leave.

Dominic Cummings - director of Leave

devon smile

Just seen this quote from Mark Twain which I think is almost certainly the Brexiters mantra

" it is easier to fool a person, than convince him that he's been fooled"

petra Mon 10-Jul-17 13:49:56

I think a lot of 'brexiters' didn't bother to vote as they thought there was no way we were going to leave.

Smileless2012 Mon 10-Jul-17 13:49:40

As they didn't vote, it also means they didn't vote to remain.

devongirl Mon 10-Jul-17 13:41:46

I feel you and I are on the same wavelength, maybe shared roots!

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 13:41:27

No, it isn't what you said whitewave - but I see you're off on a tangent again...

devongirl Mon 10-Jul-17 13:40:35

It does indeed, ww, but the other end - North Devon, God's own country!

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 13:38:29

I think that is what I said devon

By the way I was born in Plymouth and lived for a while in South Brent , if your name means you are from Devon smile

devongirl Mon 10-Jul-17 13:34:01

ww I absoutely agree that we should remain and that the majority now think so - but I have to agree with Ana (for once - we're ususally diametrically opposite!) that it is an unreasonable belief that all leavers voted and only remainers didn't bother.

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 13:15:53

Latest polls

54.4% remain

45.6% leave

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 13:00:52

Oh, so we just assume that anyone who didn't vote wanted to remain? Maybe they had no idea what they wanted, or couldn't care less, or didn't agree with the referendum and refused to vote on principle - no one knows!

varian Mon 10-Jul-17 12:50:06

Anyone who wished for brexit would have voted leave surely?

Ana Mon 10-Jul-17 12:47:58

What does the 'nor wish for' mean then?

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 12:26:59

No it means that they did not vote for Brexit - a nuanced difference smile

devongirl Mon 10-Jul-17 12:25:52

I wholeheartedly support the aims of this petition, ww, but am uncomfortable with

the 63% majority of the British electorate who did not vote for nor wish for "Brexit"

where has this figure come from, is it assuming that all those who didn't vote in the referendum did not support Brexit?

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 12:09:33

Including my mp

whitewave Mon 10-Jul-17 12:09:17

Done and sent it to everyone I can think of!!

varian Mon 10-Jul-17 11:59:34

If you are one of the 63% of the population who did not vote for brexit, or one of the leavers who have changed their minds, you may be heartened to see this petition being sent to Donald Tusk.

Haven't heard much from the JCB guy who was very vocal in favour of brexit [along with Dyson] recently. Good to see that Anna Soubry and Chuka [sp] are working together.
