If you want to end it gangy can you please reply to the original question?
Television presenters you really like
I thought I would start this thread to enable those who are enthusiastic Brexiters, to educate us Europhiles and show that our worries are silly and uniformed.
We hear so little from you, except to criticise our worries.
We have so many threads about the negative effects why not have one which shows the positive effects that leaving the EU will come about?
If you want to end it gangy can you please reply to the original question?
I think it time this thread is ended. As an avid Brexiteer I had no intention of being drawn into this 'bear baiting pit' where remainers supercilious diatribe has no bounds. Time they packed up and shut up.
My, my. Have you decided democracy only exists for you gangy5. A mandate can be either democratic or irreversible, but it cannot be both and we live in a democracy. Calling people names will not change the fact that, whether or not we leave and how we do it if that is what happens, is still open to democracy. As for being drawn into a 'bear baiting pit', do get over yourself.
"gangy5" that may be your view, You did win a flawed referendum which was anything but democratic as so many lies were told especially but the leave campaign.. We find that Brexiteers rather express rational debate resort to abuse. Sadly you are no different.
Today I've been leafleting for "Open Britain" and collecting signatures for a petition against a Hard Brexit. The worst thing about the referendum is that it has divided an already divided society. We shall see what progress if any the negotiations make. When all the facts have come to light parliament should have a free vote and if needs be a second referendum.
The lead message was "We have so many threads about the negative effects why not have one which shows the positive effects that leaving the EU will come about?"
One person did. Just one. So gangy5, your comment was par for the course

Looks like Labour is going to give the government an enormous amount of challenges over the Repeal Bill.
About time!
Starmer has suggested as much
tegan
I so agree , good for you with your leafleting
Well, I did my bit leafleting for European Movement UK this morning but what interested me was the mixture of people doing it; LibDems, lifelong Labour voters such as myself and lifelong Conservatives. British politics is very strange and confused at the moment.
They are both worth a read
"A country in which parts of the press is demonstrably uninterested in the truth and exploit a disaster like the Grenfill Tower for their own ends, has a very serious problem"
I think remain and reform is the way forward.
Thanks dj I must read the first one you linked.
Government's position papers show that we are better off in EU. No wonder they want to keep their bargaining a secret.

No, it's this one. Both a good read, anyway.

Is this the article you meant, whitewave?
I like the bit about it being in our best interests if Barnier negotiated with himself.
"whitewave" I really hope they are right. The more I mention Brexit to strangers who political tendencies I do not know the most response is that "It won't happen". Logically (the flawed referendum aside) the whole exercise makes absolutely no sense. There are faults with the EU but unless we remain part of it we cannot changes it.
The reasons for voting leave are all flawed.
Immigration - there are procedures for sending EU nationals home if they are not working, Belgium does that UK could but has never tried.
Neglected regions - down to the UK government and partly to the political system here. The EU helps neglected regions including those in the UK.
The EJC in reality this rarely conflicts with our own courts.
The Irish Border - won't work under Brexit.
SZInternational has published a good article on the 4 Brexiters, and it is heartening to know that this German publication considers that Britain will survive the bizarre performance being put in by May,(grimly clinging to power) Johnson,(a joke) Davis(lazy as a toad) and Fox(least credible of all).
It is worth a read , just to get an idea what the Germans are thinking about us at present.
In fact I suspect they feel quite sorry for us being landed with such awful people in charge.
At the moment if you are receiving a UK old age pension and living in the EU you still obtain your EHIC card from Newcastle and it entitles you to full treatment in the UK as you have paid into the system for so long. It can also be used in member states other than the one of domicile for holiday health problems. I assume that this will still be the case.
All so much worry and uncertainty when it could have been avoided if the Remain campaign had been run properly and people told the real facts.
Amazingly there are Brits living in EU countries who voted to leave believing that nothing would change for them. This to me shows an almost unbelievable amount of ignorance for them to not realise that their healthcare could be at risk when the UK leaves the EU apart from other changes to their freedom.
cherry thank you for that excellent information.
I repeated what I read in the paper this morning, but it is good to be put right where necessary.
I must admit i was a bit puzzled about the NHS thing.

One of our Northeast MEPs has a Belgian husband, and a half-Belgian son.
Private equity firms are trying to sell $2 billion worth of shopping malls since Brexit.
Anyone up for buying one?

Who has control of our railways?
CitizensRights
Rights must be “directly enforceable in front of national jurisdictions, under the control of the European Court of justice”
“We have shown a willingness to discuss creative solutions” on the governance of the citizens’ rights agreement
Guess who said which? One by Barnier and one by Davis.
There is no citizens' rights agreement, so what does Davis mean?
whitewave I'm in the EU;
You will be able to use your health card when travelling to another EU country after Brexit
But I won´t be able to move to another EU country without jumping through a lot of hoops, and if I leave the country I am in for more than two years I lose my right of residence.
The NHS will continue to pay for your health care.
The UK currently pays Spain about €3,500 a year per person to cover all aspects of their care. This does not even cover the cost of my husband's prescriptions. Spain and other countries with a high number of resident pensioners from more northern European countries have been trying to get this amount raised for years. I would not be at all surprised if they raise a strong objection to the status quo continuing.
David Davis has just said ,"None of you will have followed the negotiations in the detail I have, of course..."
What an idiot. Of course nobody has because he won't tell us what he is saying!
