But why do you think this is a good decision? That's what this thread is about.
And do you think the UK Government will replace the subsidies and support that the poorer parts of our country (like Wales and Cornwall) that we will no longer get from the EU? Our net contribution is not that massive.

Some predictions are now coming true - just taken longer - businesses are moving jobs out of the UK even if keeping some in UK - promises made by the Leave camp have been proven lies.
For 40 years we have listened to Brexiteers moaning and groaning about the EU despite the UK doing much better and ceasing to be the 'sick man of Europe'.
Be prepared for another 39 years of moaning but that will also go into 'how wrong you were' as things progress.

It's interesting that Remainders are still banging on about what a "disaster" Brexit is. Negotiations are in their infancy and the EU powers that be will be making it difficult at every turn for the UK to extricate themselves. Hard ball is being played. I feel even more sure that leaving the EU is a good decision and that they will miss us and our massive contribution far more than we'll miss them.

Yet again I am reminded of Frankie Howard's soothsayer in Up Pompeii as I read some Remainer predictions. Gloom, gloom and thrice gloom without a resolution being passed.

Then you are ignoring the vote because ' it did not go your way' according to your personal opinion.

There is no point to holding a democratic vote if the person/reason for the vote taking place does not win by getting the larger share of the votes cast .

It is weasle words to say along the lines of "We respect the outcome 'BUT' " . There is no BUT, that simply means "I do not respect the outcome, full stop".

POGS no one is ignoring the vote. The way democracy works is you are allowed to try and change things once they have been voted on. Your way is the suppression on democracy. A mandate can either be democratic or irreversible - it cannot be both.

Well I guess if we have a General Election and Jeremy Corbyn wins it will be 'The will of the people'.

Not quite sure anyone knows what this means, but I suppose it will be useful to blame "the people" when it goes belly up

We all know that the referendum result was unexpected and that the government had no idea how to manage a leave vote, they still have no idea.

They should come clean and abandon the whole Brexit project. The further we get into the so called negotiations the more untenable things become.

Hopefully parliament will realise this and grasp the nettle. The overwhelming majority of MP's themselves voted Remain, no Brexiteers have come up with any good reasons.

What I find do bloody annoying is apparently all that nonsense spouted by Davis at the beginning of the weak about the CU had nothing to do with the negotiations but everything to do with the conflict within the Tory party.

What a pity his energies are not being directed at solving what appears to many the insolvable.

How can we have an 'invisible Irish border' (or did I misunderstand what I heard on the news?). Isn't that just no border, in which case what is brexit all about?

I keep thinking that we have to go for the best Brexit we can get - in favour of what the UK needs not what the Brexiteers wanted - as no one is going to overturn the referendum but where Ireland is concerned I wonder if anyone actually has any answer - best, second best of dreadful.

I despair of the government that first brought us to this place because of their own internecine strife and that now seems to have little political weight behind their negotiations and truly wonder what they will bring us to.

Do you think the Irish border should be run by fairies or leprechauns? It might be the answer to David Davis's problems.

Unfortunately many of the remain predictions have started coming true - just took a lot longer for the effect to show that they thought.
The longer the debate goes on about leaving the worse the outlook becomes.

But Cameron and Osbourne were on the Remain side ww. I can't see how that's what gg meant.
So is it now Cameron, Osborne and anyone who campaigned to leave should be prosecuted?

How about the Remain campaign, who said jobs would be lost? At least their speculative claims can be proven correct or incorrect. Prosecute them for anything they got wrong?

Or how about just prosecute everyone who disagrees with you? Good luck with that!

The Fourth Reich idea has been knocking around for years, and has never had any traction. It was started by a Neo-Nai, who claimed that the EU was Hitler's idea.

gg I think it would be sufficient for someone who had the wealth to do so to prove in court that the Leave side knew it was lying when it said a number of things, including the £350milluon, hoards of Turkish, waves of refugees, -remember Farage standing in front of that poster. Shades of the Third Reich posters there of course.

If it was accepted in court that none of this was known to be true at the time, there wouldn't be any need to go for individuals. The case would be proven.

We just need someone with the money??!!!!
