MargaretX, Whitewave, I have to agree about how the country has been run by governments who could always blame the EU. If/when we leave there will be no where to hide but some politicians (Cameron and Osborne spring to mind) seem to have used the UK as their own laboratory and then run pretty fast when everything went wrong. I think they should be prosecuted.

Did you hear the interview with the man from Eire on the Today programme this morning? He said the idea of no border controls -which of course they want- are a smugglers charter. It all sounded an impossible thing to do really. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Well at least he won't be taking part in the negotiations, unlike Davis.

What a ruddy mess. If I were Davis, I'd have certainly taken to the bottle. The BBC News at 6 explanation as to why we need the Customs Union was clear and correct. What a shame it wasn't shown before the referendum. Both DH and I worked in logistics here and in Germany at one time, and the complications we're going to have once we're out of the CU don't bear thinking about.

I am absolutely appalled that the BBC seems to have only just discovered the details of how the CU works and the implications of leaving. This should have been made clear months and months ago.

I think that you are absolutely right margaret our government has totally let us down and appears utterly inadequate, which I suspect has been going on for years.

It seems that this Brexit buisness has shown quite plainly how the Uk is governed- or not governed as the case seems to be. I suspect this has been going on for years but now it has been exposed.
M.Banier is correct to insist that the EU citzens' rights must come first. Even if a young non UK couple have a baby born in the Uk , they nor the baby have any rights to live there. Before, people had a child and their residence was secured.
As M. Banier seems to be repeating himself I wonder whether they discuss this in Number 10.
