There was never just one way to Leave the EU, and what Mrs May said in her speech today sounds very sensible.

Half the people didn't 'speak' in the way that these lier keep accrediting to them. I was part of that half and anything that delays and gives us the chance to rethink - at least about how we leave if we have to - is OK by me.

No one, lemongrove, has to accept anything just because you say so. This is realism setting in at long last. The opportunity to reverse policy is fundamental to any democracy. Your Brexit Bulldog, David Davis said “If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy” so let democracy continue.

I actually feel very European - something I did not feel 40 years ago - it is lovely to see people of other nationalities getting on well and helping each other. Why would you want to feel an outsider all the time except when on a small little island?

Many Europeans see the UK as putting a bit of moderation to ideas of the EU! They actually think the EU at times needs the moderating force. The U.K. Has at times been a thorn in the side but also one for good at making them re-evaluate things.
It was Churchill who had the vision of the EU to stop all the horrors of the wars he had witnessed and been a part of.

We have never been European / part of Europe. If it hadn't of been for Ted Heath 'allegedly' being offered a nice little sweetener, it would never have happened.

Sovereignty and taking back control is what people voted for. If there had not been such a scare campaign, how many more people would have voted to leave.

Being part of the E U creates dependency and policy is made by unelected individuals. We would become just a province.

Our parliament should get on and legislate for the UK. And if we don't like it we can vote them out.
If Mrs May fudges this, she is out as far as I am concerned.

'Not comfortable in Europe' is exactly the position of the UK, so no clanger whitewave. All governments here have been a thorn in the side of the EU, we have never quietly done it's bidding.Otherwise we would have had the euro as currency and been part of the Schengen fiasco for starters.
