In my inbox this morning I received the government to the petition asking for disclosure of thier own Brexit impact statements. They claim that such disclosure would undermine their negotiation position which you can understand, in reality it is difficult to see what difference it would make. The real reason is fear of the public's reaction. See the response yourself and you haven't signed the petition sign it to force a debate in parliament.

I think you have been reading too many red-tops Firecracker and are just repeating their brainwashing propaganda.

We can see Keir Starmer putting up a much more professional argument while the Brexit Bulldog has to reverse more and more from the lies told during the referendum.

The whole attitude of the Labour Party belies all we have been told by the newspaper Barons just wanting to ensure they stay rich. Quietly, behind the scenes, the LP are preparing for power. Just as they showed the work they had done with economic experts behind the scenes when it came to the election - particularly in comparison to the poor showing from the Tories economically - they are now working with a group of top ex civil servants* to prepare of government - I am not sure that even after all this time we could say the government is prepared.

No firecracker - if I was a Tory I would not rely on the LP to do your work for you. Indeed, it seems to me that the LP have heeded the words of Napoleon "Never interfere with your enemy when he is making a mistake.” and, to some extent, waiting until the Conservatives run out of rope.

The general opinion seems to be that the European leaders understand that Maybot is a dead duck, but they recognise that she is preferable to the possible alternative.

It certainly seems to be the consensus among the journalists who have contacts with the people there whitewave. Everyone who has commented seems to feel it is just a case of which crisis will finish her off. She has been sacrificed on the Tory altar of power.

Maisie, listening to Any Questions Anna Soubry said that whether they wanted it or not 'most people' accept that we are working towards leaving the EU. She also added that 'most people' also believe that no 'Brexit' is worth a 'no deal'.

In other words, if the government can get a decent deal a majority will probably go along with it. If it is a 'no deal' deal then they will likely not. I think there is some truth in this.

However, we also have to take into account the fact that the Conservatives may or may not stay in power. Again, an interesting answer from Anna Soubry. When she had given a very reasoned comment about Universal Credit she was asked why she had abstained. She replied that she would not do that again. Jonathan Dimbleby quickly picked up on this and it sounded to me - just my impression - that there is a limited time that some Tories will back the government in this way.
